Description
When we started this company, our goal was to keep it as straightforward as possible: to craft flavors and experiences that the people of Maine hadn’t had before, and serve them as fresh as possible. Over the years, as the business has grown, we are now able to share our beers with people in other areas – regionally, nationally, and internationally – but Maine always comes first. We strive to take care of those things closest to us, and let that radiate outward: our staff, our processes for making beer, our tap rooms and loyal customers, and the surrounding communities that support us. Everything we do is in support of these things, we are nothing without them.

Can thanks to Jeremy. Pours a cloudy orange gold with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is earthy hop and grass. Medium mouth, juicy hop, pine, citrus, light bitterness, crushable, very good.

CAN - Can. Milky. Hazy orange. Huge grapefruit bomb in aroma. Mouthfeel is pretty basic. Thin, fleeting and watery. On the "swish" it’s orange peel and tangerines and a little sucrose. Has a nice bitterness that fades fast (why are all of these IPAs so thick like a milkshake? it’s gross)

Draught at the brewery, 4/2/16.
This batch was just canned and released this weekend, lucky me! A heavily hazy, nearly soupy amber-golden body topped by a medium-sized white head that fades quickly to cover.
Juice, juicy fruit sweetness and...well....more juice and tropical fruits. Ya, this is not screaming complexity, but the mango-papaya-cherry-pineapple is about as good as your’re going to find. No edge to it whatsoever and only sweet honey-like base malts hang in the background. No booze or flaw.
In the flavor it’s incredibly soft, malty and gently sweet while still maintaining good attenuation. Just a phenomenally tropical juice bomb with moderate cherry character as well. Low but ultra-tight carbonation and low bitterness with no resin or pine. No booze here and no flaw. Just massively juicy hop notes, soft, creamy-malty carbonation-texture and just a nip of bitterness to balance. Pretty f-in good.

Very pale, straw-golden with just a hint of bright, sunny orange. Quite hazy, with a large white head that shows moderate retention.
Ginger is certainly there, but it’s not even necessarily the first thing you notice, being well balanced between mandarin orange and meyer lemon notes. It dries out significantly towards the end, with light white grape, wet straw and unripened guava from the sorachi. Light honey and a touch of perfume, with no toastiness from the rice (I assume the rice is toasted). No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it’s lightly bitter, with floral notes and spicy ginger character that is very, very well-done, which is to say, very conservatively done. Spicy hints of pine, soft, dank green notes and lightly sweet honey character from the malt. Low carbonation, but engagingly tight. No alcohol noted. Earth, grain and spice all balanced and interesting, mixing with the more dry, not-in-your-face hops. Awesome.

Heavily hazy to borderline soupy golden body is topped by a medium-sized white head that shows moderately-strong retention.
Lovely nose of ripe pineapple, mango, papaya and various easygoing tropical fruits. Some spiciness reminiscent of galaxy and some very strong honey and juice. It all comes together nicely, being quite aromatic with little/no acidity. No stiff pine or grapefruit and no specialty malts bothering things. Alcohol pretty well-concealed with no flaws.
In the mouth it’s juicy, rather sweet at times, though pure honey-like character, no caramel or intense bread. Meyer lemon, some moderate grapefruit and tons of apricot-nectarine mimicking mosaic quite closely. Some dullness on the finish, with yeast and light earthiness. A bit of alcohol and lasting sweetness lingers. Great carbonation levels, however and a soft, malty texture. Would agree with the general "rough-around-the-edges" sentiment.

Draught at the brewery, 4/2/16.
Thoroughly hazy, white-gold to flaxen body is topped by a moderate-sized white head with fair retention.
Fruity/spicy rye and other grains in the nose mix with lemon, lightly sweet orange and just a hint of mango. The juiciness is there, barely and teases the nose, while filling in the gaps is fresh yeast, grain and plentiful citric hoppiness. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it immediately shows a light to medium-light body with moderate carbonation and a nice wateriness aiding drinkability. Juicy nectarine and pineapple emerge, balancing the more dry, austere lemon and light grapefruit. Quite dry, quenching and not resinous, despite being fairly bitter. Good texture from the rye and a very nice session beer to-boot. Very impressed with Bissell so far. Not too many breweries are making more subtle, low flavor session pales like this. Most people would cry out, "WHERE’S ALL THE JUICY FLAVOR!?!". 8/4/8/4/16
4 pack of fresh cans, drunk 10/21,10/22 and 10/23.
Tried saving some of these but couldn’t stop drinking them. Even better than I remembered, with a very dry, fruity and spicy rye character that adds a bit of "chewiness" to the body. It’s lean and very aromatic, moderately juicy and with ample tangerine, grapefruit and lemon. Melon in the flavor, as well, and really just all-around balanced and wonderful. Has just a bit more bitterness than most Tree House and Trillium’s of its size and a little less juiciness, though the Mosaic is still very well-done. Upping my rating some.

Draught at the King’s Head Pub, 3/6/16.
Luminous, NE IPA hazy/soupy golden/honeydew colored body is topped by a solid white head showing strong retention.
Juicy, of course, in the nose, but with a strong white grapefruit element and resulting acidity. Light floral notes make their way in and it grows quite heady/perfumey and the juice character dries out leaving dry pineapple and such on the finish. Some lightly biscuity malts sit behind, but never interrupt. Not quite the sheer juice bomb of, say, Julius or Congress Street, but certainly very respectable. No alcohol or flaw.
And so it goes in the mouth; tons of citrus alongside more dry tropical fruit notes, with lightly biscuity malt providing an almost chewy texture. Engaging, tight carbonation and strong attenuation. No alcohol no flaw. Just a bit too citrus dominated and stark, compared to some of the best. Could actually stand to have just a touch more maltiness to it, as well. Still a very enjoyable, easy-drinking NE IPA.
