Poured from the tap. Clear golden orange with off white head. Light citrus and pine hops. Bitterness is cushioned by a sweetness from the malt. Light alcohol finish. Flavours have subtle subdue-ness.

1st beer on the ’Six Pack Sampler’ in the Yard House, Long Beach: 7th Feb 2017. Kolsch biers are not known for their strong flavours or depth and this offering was no different. Light golden pour, white head, no real aroma and a taste that was neither hoppy or malty. Let me be kind and say the flavours were subtle and leaning towards a citrus like taste, a hint of salt maybe too. Scored objectively.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours clear bright gold with a foamy white head. Aroma is sort of pale light prunus fruits with an earthy underpinning. It starts rather tart, could be unripe fruit, might be citrus, but moves on to a paper aftertaste. Don’t know what happened to the anticipated earthiness. Certainly drinkable, and approaching refreshing. Needs a bit of work IMHO.
