At Hopishop 2016. Aroma of peat, red fruit, smoke, oak and tart. Taste has mild tart, smoke, red fruit, oak and lacto sourness. This beer is a mess, but lickily a somewhat tasty one.

Bomber sampled @ HopisHop B.U.M.B. 2016. 2013 Vintage. Dark brown, little bubbles. Nose is very oxidized, vinegar, sour cherry, acidic, varnish, this aint right even for a Wine BA beer. Taste is flat glue, varnish, acid, nail poolish, rubbish cherry & unripe fruit. This clearly ain’t right. Varnish & glue body. Surprised at this being currently a top 50 Abbey Dubbel on RB, maybe a bad bottle?

This kind of borders on a Flemish brown and it’s very balanced. Neither too sweet nor tart, but quite drinkable.

4 oz draft goblet taster at Lone Star Taps & Caps in Lewisville, Texas. The pour is a clear golden yellow with not much of a white head. The aroma is sweet floral, herbal yeast and a big full traditional Tripel nose. The taste is sweet, floral hay and the clove herbal Tripel yeast. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with soft to low carbonation and the yeast in the alcohol warming finish. This is a well made Tripel.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a cloudy gold with small frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is yeast, pure sugar, bubblegum. Medium mouth, bubblegum, yeast, candy sugar, light finish, ok.

750 ml 2015 bottle from Tavour, labeled whiskey barrel aged Belgian-style Quad. Nose is oaky vanilla, golden raisins, and fig newtons. Hazy dark brown with a medium light tan head. Flavor is very sweet, caramelly, dark fruits with hints of woody vanilla and bourbon. Actually very nice if you like sweeter quads.

On tap at Zax. Grainy, buttery, sweet aroma. Texture and body a bit light. Mildly sweet, floral flavors, not bad for an American version. Almost there....

2012 Batch 002 Bottle #1187. The beer pours a murky dark brownish-amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that dissipates gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, fruit and yeast. Full-bodied with flavors of dark fruit, earthy yeast and grainy malt. The finish is sweet with a fruity yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

750ml bottle. Unfiltered orange-copper body. Sweet and rich. The bottle is over two years old and holds up well. Nice effervescent carbonation still. Nutty banana breadfruit candi sugar covered sweetness. This is a really solid Tripel.
