On tap at The Ginger Man, NY. Itβs a clear, dark amber colored beer with a small, light beige head. The aroma is lightly roasted with prunes and caramel chiming in. Itβs full-bodied and nicely carbonated, with flavors of lightly roasted malts, some prunes and dark chocolate and a faint meaty touch. Not much bitterness to talk of. Long finish. A bit on the malty side perhaps, but itβs a Biere de Garde so nothing to complain about, and itβs really fine anyway. 150624

750 ml bottle consumed yesterday. Purchased at H. E. B. Austin. Hazy gold in color with thin lasting head. Aroma shows dusty yeast, clove, weak bananas, light black pepper. The is the same with the yeast not as chewy or full like others in the style. Also a light alcohol tone. Not bad to drink but it did take me a good amount of time to get through a snifter. Perhaps I wasnβt in the mood for the style. Yeaaaaah

Draught @ The Ginger Man, New York, NY
Pours slightly hazy deep amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long malty, caramel and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Split a 750ml bottle. Poured a dark yellow color with a fluffy white head. Aroma was spices, lots of citrus, light pepper notes. Light white pepper, citrus, light toasted malt notes. Pretty tasty.

Clear goldn ambr colr, medium white head. Aroma of light tropical fruit, pine. Taste is fruity citrus, mild bitterness. Decent enough, but they speld the name of the beer wrong.

Bottle bought by a colleague who recently visited Houston. (thanks Wolff) Dark amber with a small head. Nothing special with this one. Dryish with dried fruit, some nuts and caramel. Warming alcohol in the finish.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a weizen glass. Cloudy light orange with big fluffy white head. Aroma is light coriander, medium body, medium carbonation, and thick big-bubble lacing. Taste is coriander, apple, and hints of orange. A little too much coriander for me.

750ml corked and caged bottle. Batch 16 Bottled more than a year ago..crime against beer that I let it sit so long. Testament to the quality of the beer and the bottle conditioning that it held up rather well. Hazy yellow-tan body. A Wit, but has some depth, nice yeasty notes, oats, spices. A lot of depth for the medium to light body.
