Bottle. An almost clear, brown beer with a dense, finger-thick beige head. Caramel, some roasted malts, prunes and raisin. Some piney notes in the far back. It’s medium to full-bodied, softly carbonated and semi-dry, with a gentle bitterness. Roasted malts, coffee, toffee and some nuttiness in the flavor. Medium length roasted, nutty finish. A decent brown ale, nothing more. 231125

On tap at the brewpub. Dark, dark brown and seemingly unclear, with a dense dark beige head. Roasted malts, some coffee and dark chocolate, bread crust, toffee, dark rye bread and hints of licorice in the aroma. Some alcohol too. It's full bodied and lightly warming, with a gentle carbonation. The flavor is pretty much like the aroma, except for some bitterness and a touch of piney hops. Prunes chiming in after a while. Lasting finish. Although not world class, it's sure a pleasant and tasteful beer. 231111

Bottle, at the brewpub. A clear dark brown beer with a creamy, finger thick beige head. The aroma has roasted malts, coffee notes, dark dried fruits, some bread and caramel and a touch of licorice. Can't really say I detect the almond liqueur that has been added. It's very mellow on the palate, a bit low on carbonation actually, full to medium bodied, and mostly dry. Some residual sweetness though. Caramel, bread, roasted notes and a hint of licorice in the flavor. Still no trace of the almond liqueur. Think I sense a hint in the finish though. Anyway, not much Christmas going on here I think, but it's a decent brew anyway. 231111

On tap at the brewpub. A clear amber colored beer with a creamy finger thick light beige head. Curtains. The aroma is on the malty side, bread, caramel and some dried fruit notes. It's medium to full bodied and quite smooth on the palate, semi dry and softly carbonated, with a decent bitterness. Bread, caramel and dried fruits in the flavor, with some piney, citrusy hints. Quite bitter in the very end. 231111

On tap at the brewpub. A lightly hazy deep golden colored beer with a small, dense off-white head. Some lacing. The aroma is flowery and citrusy, with some pine cones and bready malts. Caramel too. It's full bodied and smooth on the palate, with a bit harsh bitterness. Citrus zest, some grapefruit and pine cones and a bready, caramel-ish maltyness. Medium length hop driven finish. A bit rough this one, but sure drinkable. 231111

On tap at the brewpub. A clear golden colored beer with a small off-white head. Slightly sweetish malty and fruity aroma with a piney, grassy and peppery touch. It's medium bodied and a bit sweet on the palate, with a decent carbonation and bitterness. Piney, citrusy and grassy hops and bready pale malts in the flavor. Medium length finish. A tad too sweet, but sure not bad. Has some crisp elements too. 231111

Bottle. It pours a mostly clear body under a dense finger thick white head. The aroma is piney and grapefruity with a gentle touch of tropical fruit. Some maltyness going on too. It's full bodied and pleasantly carbonated, with a good bitterness. The flavor is s bit more malty, caramel mostly, but still with the hops dominating. Some orange in addition to pine cones and grapefruit. Lingering finish. A fine specimen this one. 230803

On tap at the brewpub. A hazy dark orange to copper colored beer with a small light beige head. The aroma is on the malty side with bread, caramel, some grass and hay. Roasted notes and a hint of dried apricot. It's medium bodied and smoothly carbonated, with a very gentle bitterness. Bread, caramel, dried fruit and a roasted touch in the flavor, with some notes of hay and even some chocolate. Medium length finish. A pleasant Alt that probably would be even better with some appropriate food. 230803
