On tap at Desarmadero, pours a mostly clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out an unusual earthy hop character, toasted bready malt, and a hint of pine. Flavour balances the malt and hops decently well, with plenty of resinous hops and toasted bready malt. Quite bitter, but balanced. Could use a better, richer, chewier malt profile. Competent.

354mL can from Bodega de Cervezas, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of the red wine barrels, with plenty of tannins, and a solid roasted malt base. Flavour is complex, with a real nice red wine barrel expression, gentle tannins, the slightest amount of tartness/acidity, and a solid roasted malt base that still provides a solid foundation. Really nice Malbec expression. Excellent.

Flavour is moderately roasty, with light iodine, cocoa, and some earthiness. Light-bodied but solid enough malt depth; drinks like a typical European RIS. Solid enough.
