Description
Rascals Brewing was founded in 2014 by Emma Devlin and Cathal O’Donoghue.
The pair were living and working in New Zealand and developed a taste and passion for the booming Kiwi craft beer industry. In the spirit of adventure, they decided to change careers entirely and set up their own craft brewery back home in Dublin. Sure, why not?

Draught, very small but stable head, hazy light orange colour, with yellow hues, aroma of wheat and toothpaste, flavour of almond, toothpaste and some fruit, quite strong fruity sourness that is a touch unrefined, more a weizen then a wit. Quite average and not too exciting.

Bottle @ Post EBBC14 tasting at Norseman [290614] beers from BeersIveKnown. Cheers!
Reddish brown, thin white head, cleat
Aroma of soft caramel, soft berry fruits, touch of hedgerow fruits, slightly spicy
Taste of light caramel malts, soft red berries, soft sweet fruity malts, light soft citrus
Palate - Soft carb, medium body. Finish a bit dry.
Overall - Thanks for BeersIveKnown for carting a sample of this beer in a paper cup across the streets of Dublin...need to re-rate this one day properly...seemed to be quite a decent amber

Keg @ Norseman, Dublin [280714]
Black, tan head, some lacing
Nose of soft roast malts, some chocolate, slight ginger
Taste of soft roast malts, soft chocolate, touch of coffee, ginger is very soft in this
Palate - Medium carb (too fizzy from keg), thin to medium body, light sweet. Finish as main flavour.
Overall - Keg dispense doesn’t really suit this beer, it would be much better on cask. Quite a pleasant porter

Slightly hazy deep golden colour, good frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma toasted malt, plum, apricot marmalade, caramel. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, biscuit, caramel, plum, apricot, alcohol notes. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, orange peel, spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, an atypical IPA but very nice.
