16 oz can thanks to Willrunforbeer. Dark brown color, fast dying head. Aroma starts with a good amount of roasty hints, mild Berry type hint and light smoke.

Flavor is an odd mix of smoke, with a sour grain base. Lacto bacteria type notes. Yeah, I guess the 90 plus degree fermentation really did some off the wall stuff to this brew. Personally I really don’t enjoy this brewery yeast strain. Just my taste, hard for me to enjoy this. I got to go against the grain here... Just not good at all.

This was poured into a tulip glass.
The appearance was a lightly glazed over yellow color with a one and a half finger white foamy head that quickly dissipated leaving some light stringy lacing sliding into the beer.
The smell had a nice sweet to grassy rustic/slightly earthy citrus hops roaming over light grapes.
The taste copied the aroma well being somewhat sweet and earthy rustic. A slight grassy grape-like quality leads into the aftertaste and only leaves a wet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonated nicely, this one doesn’t really pound over my tongue but lightly roams smoothly over my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty nice crushable saison that I would have again.

Draft EBF. Pours yellow. Nose/taste of habanero, mango, citrus and light brett funk - medium body.

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum can poured into a Trappist glass. Clear red with small beige head. Aroma is sweet bourbon, medium body, medium/low carbonation, and some small bubble lacing. Taste is malty bourbon, butter scotch, some dark fruit (mostly raisin), and vanilla. Quite flavorful and alcohol is pretty well covered.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on a Friday night hoping that it’s one of the last frigid nights for a while. Appearance is pitch black, cola like, with no head. Aroma is rich in coffee, chocolate, mocha, light yeast, smells pretty nice. Taste is unusually carbonated, bitter coffee notes, light chocolate, has a weird aftertaste that I’m not a fan of. I’m becoming less of a fan of this brewery.

Can. Light toffee malt and strong pine/spruce aroma. Amber with large light tan head. Lightly sweet toffee malt, musty yeast, and mildly bitter pine flavor. Body on the lighter side - nicely drinkable.

Split pint can. Dark, brown/black. Big roast coffee aroma. Roast coffee dominates the palate. I didn’t pick up the Belgian character. A bit thin on the finish

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 2/3/2015. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark roasted coffee, chocolate, cocoa, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, light dark fruit, light pepper, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of coffee, roast/bready malt, light yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark roasted coffee, chocolate, cocoa, toast, dark bread, light smoke, light dark fruit, light pepper, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Light roast bitterness and yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of coffee, chocolate, cocoa, toast, dark bread, light smoke, light dark fruit/pepper, and yeast/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and robustness of coffee, roast/bready malt, and light yeast ester flavors; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian coffee stout. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of coffee, roast/bready malt, light yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. I was hoping for more yeast character in the flavors, but I really don’t have any complaints about it as a coffee stout. A very enjoyable offering.

Can. Light bourbon, milk caramel malt, and grass aroma. Amber with moderate light tan head and mild effervescence. Sweet raisin, cherry, vanilla caramel, biscuit malt and light alcohol flavor. Very sweet - on the edge of being cloying. Pleasant.
