We are excited to share our passion for beer, food and sustainability with you. Much of the inspiration behind Vivant comes from the small breweries that dot the countryside in Southern Belgium and Northern France. Often, those breweries are true beer artisans who are also an integral part of their community. They experiment with unique yeasts and local ingredients, always with an artistic eye to their creations. Sourcing ingredients locally makes their beer pair exceptionally well with a meal of locally sourced produce, meats, and cheeses. Brewery Vivant promotes living the good life by brewing farmhouse inspired beer, serving a from-scratch menu, and building a sustainable community one beer at a time.

16oz can. Thick, hazy, unfiltered orange-yellow body. Thin, patchy head. Not your typical BS US Saison, this one is pretty unique and rustic. Has some funky delicate earthy wheat and mildly sour undertones..reminiscent of a Berliner Weisse in some respects, but has a pleasant rounded backbone, maybe a hint of oats or nutmeg. Quite a unique and enjoyable variation on the style, a great addition to any Saison tasting.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no canning date, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy deep orange amber color with a 2-3 finger dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of tangerine, orange zest, grapefruit, pineapple, orange rind, banana, clove, pepper, caramel, candi sugar, floral, grass, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop, yeast ester, and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big tangerine, orange zest, pineapple, lemon zest, grapefruit, banana, clove, caramel, candi sugar, floral, grass, pepper, light pine, light bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pineapple, banana, clove, candi sugar, caramel, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome balance and complexity of hop, malt, and yeast ester notes; with hops over the yeast character, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly slick, creamy, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Belgian DIPA! All around great complexity and balance of hop, yeast ester, and malt notes; and dangerously smooth to sip on for 9.3%. A highly enjoyable offering.

Can 1 pt. Pours black with a vague tint of red, hardly any head. Nose has roastiness, blood and a tart edge. Medium body, hardly any carbonation, roasty, metallic, balsamico and again this tart edge. Interesting idea to can a flat, sour black ale! 200713
