Bottle from Aldi. Clear deep golden body with an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of straw, cooking apple and black pepper. Flavour of banana peel, sea salt and bready malt. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. A spicy, bready beer. Good value at £2.99 for a 750ml bottle.

Somewhat malty, but hardly any aroma to speak of. Noticeable bitterness. Watery and cheap. Kind of the laughing stock of beers in my social milieu, but the sad thing is it’s not even de worst pilsener I’ve had.

Strong pilsener. Aroma is malty, sugary, syrupy. It has an unpleasant kind of sweetness. Nevertheless, to my surprise I was able to finish the 0.5 l bottle. Pretty lame beer for alcoholics.

0.5 l can. Bready aroma, bready and caramelly flavour. No richness. Light body, soft to moderate carbonation, minimal bitterness, drinkable, too thin and shy for a Märzen.
