Description
Founded in 1900, Cervezas Ambar is an independent Spanish brewery that maintains the spirit of a constantly evolving family enterprise. With 18 beer varieties, it has more specialities than any other brand. It continues to produce beer at the same brewery where it began operations in the early part of the last century, located in the historic San José neighbourhood. There they maintain the craft processes of the 20th century, with their own malting facility and the only open vat fermentation room still in use anywhere in Spain.

Piwo typowe lagerowe, ale dość wyraziste jak na ten styl nieskomplikowany. Piana srednia mało trwala, grube pęcherze powietrza psuly efekt. Kolor jasny, zapach nikly. Smak goryczkowy z lekka slodowoscia

330ml bottle from Ultracomida, Aberystwyth. Pours clear gold, good white head. Aroma is banana and creamy mango yoghurt. Taste continues with a nice yeasty character, almost Belgian blonde or tripel-like, with a fragrant sweetness and light spice. Perhaps a little too sweet at times, but much better than the Ambar lager I had recently.

33 cl. bottle @ the apartment in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, bought @ a local supermarket. Clear farm golden with a thin quickly disappearing white head. Grainy aroma and a sweet taste. Metallic notes and the finish is almost non-existent. Utterly forgettable.

From historic notes, bottle in uk from now unrecalled sourced. Poured a golden amber colour with a small white head. Aroma of corn and grass. Medium swet, light bitterness. Light body, thinnish texture, soft carbonation. Drinkable.

Bottle from Hipercor. Clear yellow coloured with a thin white head. Nose is sweet malty, alcoholic, barleywine-esque, no hop profile whatsoever. Flavour is sweet malted, a bit grainy, dry, no hops. Low bitterness, low carbonation. Didn’t really work out with the 10%abv and 10 hops project.

33 cl bottle bought at Alcampo. Pours sparkling deep golden with whitish head, rapidly vanishing. Aroma is... let me find the words... like those lemon-parfumed bleaches you sometime use on your kitchen and toilet floors, know what I mean? Something between a powder ready-made drink and a car deodorant, for lack of better words. Taste is sweetish, light, strangely dizzy-making. It’s no good, I’m sorry.
