Dark brown, almost opaque. Not much head. Light hoppy aroma. Taste is dominated by bitter hops and some flowery flavors. Long bitter aftertaste. (5/3/5/3/10 2.6)
Draught, new name Uncle Sam's American Porter (ex-American Porter), sampled in Oluthuone Kaisla, 12th July. 2004
Opaque black. Creamy brown head with big bubbles. Roasted hoppy aroma. Hoppy, chocolate flavor. Well-balanced, enjoyable porter with oily, bitter, sweet aftertaste.

Bronze colour. Flowery aroma. Soft and very malty with gentle mouthfeel. Very well structured maltiness, and a well balanced nicely bitter finish. An excellent strong ale!

Black with beige head. Dry and bready with notes of coffee. The slightly sharp, spicy rye flavour overshadows some of the roastiness. Short coffee finish with sharp bitterness.

Sampled draught at Helsinki Beer Festival.
Pours thick, orange coloured and slightly hazy. Heavy grassy flowery nose. Sweet and malty with thick, soft mouthfeel and a huge punch of grassy bitterness (65 IBU!) in a drier finish. Quite similar to De Ranke XX-Bitter.

Sampled draught at Helsinki Beer Festival.
Bronze coloured with nice, firm head. Grapefruit aroma. Really dry and clean with rather light body and fresh mouthfeel. Very hop accented with a long finish which, despite a powerful bitterness is more dominated by the hop aroma.

Orange coloured, cloudy, no head. Pours thick. Restrained aromatic hop aroma. Fruity, very malty, hints of pineapple. Bitter finish with hop aroma all the way through. This excellent barley wine is dominated by the chewy malt.
