On tap @ Kaisla, Helsinki. Slightly unclear orange body with a big off-white head. Aroma is not particular strong but well pronounced and a bit strange. Mild malty, spicy and with a hint of berries (knowing it to be rowanberry, but not really recognize it. Flavor is light malty, spicy yeast, berries, pepper, some kind of harsh, not unpleasant bitterness and Belgium yeast. Not very balanced in bitterness, more unusually and undefined, but it makes me curious and was not really able to describe this beer probably by the end of the pint. Not very typical Saison either, but I would probably go for another if I had time. I like this kind of surprises.

Bottle 0.5l at home, Helsinki. BBE 29.05.15. Colour is brown with small brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Spices, cardamon, anise, biscuits, caramel, some sweetness and malts. Very spicy but naturally thin. Not a beer for me.

A dark copper colour, a head is weak and beige. The nose is as spice closet, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, some sweetness. Even the huge amount of spices the aroma is quite nice. Taste is strongly spicy, cinnamon, cardamom, nice sweetness, some roastiness, smooth. The body is strong enough to balance the strong spicyness, pleasant and even slippery into the mouth. X-mas spices has been found and all of them is used. Anyway, the overally quite nice, if spices taste for you.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Angleterre, 20141122) The beer poured mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had clove and caramel. Palate was rather light bodied with medium carbonatin. Flavours were clove, caramel, malts, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy and mildly bitter. A brew that’s too thin and too spicy.

Bottle 500ml (AIH40)
Brown color, small brownish head. Strong aroma of cardamon, clove and star anise. Light-bodied. Watery palate. Caramel malty, hints of rye bread, then spices: cinnamon, cardamon, clove. Quite light drink and as such kind of useless for sessioning but perharps goes with XMas food. Similar to Julmumma.

Bottled@AIH40 (from K Citymarket Kivihaka, Vaasa). Very deep amber (close to black) colour, with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is lots of spices, some sweetness and that’s about it. Flavour is mildly porterlike with a bunch of spices to it. Nice roasted spiciness in the finish.
