Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 6/11/12
Aroma: The nose is grains, straw, lemongrass, corn, and some vegetation as well
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a fairly large white head atop it and light lacing
Flavor: Somewhat malty, but mostly just all around off, with some vegetation, buttery flavors, and astringency
Palate: The palate is a mess as well, medium body (leaning light), an odd feel, and an unpleasant finish
Overall Impression: This one didn't do it for me at all. By any stretch of my imagination, this one was just an overall poor offering. I'm glad I only have one of these. This is not a repeat. I really hate to waste beer, but this one had me considering the drain more then anything I've had in recent memory...

Draft at Blues, Brews and BBQ festival. Pours a clear gold with some nice white head. Aroma of corn, grain, and light grassy hops. Taste is light bitter. Corn and light hops. Light body with a somewhat watery texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad but not my favorite.

Draft at Blues, Brews and BBQ festival. Pours dark nut brown with about 1 finger of white head. Aroma of roasty nuts and caramel. Lightly bitter with huge nut taste and some herbal hops. Medium bodied with an oily texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. This is the one I drank for the rest of the festival.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy straw gold with almost no head. Light aroma of wheat and maybe some citrus. Taste is light sweet. Little bits of wheat, citrus and clove. Light bodied with a somewhat sticky texture. Lively carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, it’s ok. Easy drinking and a good lawnmower beer, but not much else.

12 oz bottle purchased at Lukas in Kansas City, Missouri. Pour is a light haze golden orange with a one inch slightly off white head. Aroma is sweet malt, grass and toffee caramel. There is also a hint of vanilla, and some earthy yeast. Mostly about the malt sweetness though. Taste is the sweet malt, red apple fruit and caramel, along with the earthy grass in the finish. Nice spicy hop presence as well. Palate is medium bodied, lower carbonation level, sweet and yeast linger a bit long in the finish. I always like the amber lager style, and this one was nice, though a tad sweet for my tastes.

Flavor: The taste is fairly similar to the nose, lightly sweet, with lemon, spice, and yeast mostly
Palate: The body is light, and it is a fizzy mess, way overly carbonated, which kills any sense of drinkability
Overall Impression: This was an alright beer, but the carbonation killed this one for me. It feels like a gas explosion in my mouth. Why is there so much carbonation? It made it hard to finish. You can tell from the score that I would have gone much higher, but the palate kills the overall.

Pour is a dark brown with a large whtie head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts. Flavor is again sweet malt to start then comes a bit of earth and a nice hop left on the tounge. Hoppier then usual marzen but I’ll get over it. Decent fest beer.
