bottle - Pours clear amber with a small head and a bubbly looking body. The aroma is mostly smoke with some light malt. The flavor is sweet and smoky with a medium body and a drying, smoky finish. Pretty good.

Pour is a clear gold with a average white head. Aroma is some faint malts and weak hops. Flavor is a little better only b/c there is a almost decent malty backbone. This was meh and farmhouse in name only.

12oz bottle. Hazy, unfiltered orange-tan. Creamy off-white head. Some pineapple, grapefruit in the aroma. Not so impressive for the style. Lacks malt depth. Toasty, soapy, earthy. More of an APA than anything else. Sessionable, but quite fishy, toasty. Woody, orange tones. Rather simple and unimpressive.

12oz bottle-pours a tight off white head and hazy straw color. Aroma is grain/light malt, fruity. Taste is somewhat sweet caramel/bready-grain/light malt, fruity/slightly spice hops.

Pour is a clear brown with alarge white head. Aroma is a very slight smoky malt and some meatyness. Flavor is again a very slight smoke that comes out more after the beer warms a little. I don’t know how old this sample is but it seems to have lost a lots of the smoke. OK but nothing great.

12 oz. bottle, $1.60 loose at Binny’s. Slight sour note under the cap. Poured into a Goose 312 glass, it kicks only a bit of hazy yellow and a head that betrays carbonation, even though there is some yeast left at the bottom. Taste has a bit more sourness, banana ester and a hint of eraser hits my nose when I tilt the glass. Just a bit too far off for me. Then I notice a date etched on the bottom of the bottle… 10/20/09? I don’t think this beer has been in Illinois that long; I hope it’s the date the bottle was made, perhaps.

tap at Trion - I’m not sure how a keg of this beer made it’s way to a tavern in New Haven, Indiana, but nevertheless... it pours golden with a small white head and a mild, hoppy aroma. The taste is modereately bitter, on the low end for IPAs. I’m not getting much character from this beer. It’s mostly just not all that crisp, bittering hops and some light malts. Okay, but lacking.

amber color, malty, a touch sweet. Lots of smoked cheddar. Nice but not great

12oz bottle poured into a Unibroue flute glass. Not sure how long this has been available in town, less than a year for sure, not super fresh though. Muted dark golden color with a small but long lasting head. Hazy in color but the carbonation is visible with medium clarity. Looks good. Aroma is strong on straw but slightly corny. Its a thick aroma, not refreshing and clean. Flavor is similar, thick and corny and a sweet fruity angle. Despite being a bad pilsner its actually a decent enough beer to drink.

12 oz. bottle, $1.69 @ Binny’s. Pale yellow, a bit hazy, under a white bubbly head. Sweet malt smell showing some corn. Taste is quite fizzy and sweet. Just reminds me that I never quite cared for this style. Getting more adjunct taste as I finish it.
