12oz bottle into Jolly Pumpkin tulip. Foamed up the neck a bit. I really like spiced beers and I even like these spices. However, this is horrid. Way too much spice, its like someone threw a suck full of nutmeg and clove in my face. What makes it worse is the flabby beer behind the spices. I could see a stout or strong ale but its a nondescript mildly hoppy ale. Ugh.

Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit IV, Day 3. Thanks to jcnielsen! Pours a bit hazy, bright slightly dark orange appearance with a thin white head. Vanilla frosting in the nose but not in a good way. Canned tomato, cinnamon, apple aroma. Really fucken nasty aroma. Flavor is a bit better but kind of a casserole with tomato sauce and a slight cinnamon apple flavor. Really fucken shitty. Fuck you.

Sample at Kurtkeller 001: Pumpkin-tastic 01 on 11/22/2013. Pours a dark brown color with a medium khaki head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Roasted malt, caramel and pumpkin spices in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of pumpkin pie, smoked malt and hops. The finish is pumpkin spices up front with a lingering caramel malt aftertaste. Enjoyable all around.

Pour is a cloudy red with a small white head. Aroma is all spice. Lots of nutmeg and ginger. Flavor is all spice. Its kinda like a pumpkin ale without the pumpkin. This thing is all spice. One of those beers that is good for a sample but one is enough. These Crown Valley seasonal’s are some of the better beers they brew.

Pour is a clear dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is of slight chocolate malt and slight coffee notes. Flavor is an ok char malt with again a very slight coffee. As a porter this is just ok but the minor coffee doesn’t add anything to bring this up any higher.
