This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi hazy brownish yellow color with a thin white semi-foamy head. Subtle messy lace.
The aroma had some sweet wheat, sweet corn, sundried tomatoes and then some jalapeno pepper skin. Green peppers too.
The flavor leans towards the spicy side of the jalapeno and green peppers. Subtle crisp sweet wheaty malt bill far underneath tried to balance, but stays where it is. Aftertaste and finish is the jalapeno pepper.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a palate wrecking quality about it. Not exactly the most sessionable of beers. Carbonation felt fine. ABV doesn’t seem what suggests what is there.
Overall, weird saison if it really is one. Good for what it is, unsure if I would have again, but I have liked the spicy beers thrown into beer bread.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown color almost black in color with a thin finger’s worth of white foamy head. Subtle stringy lace.
The aroma had some Belgian bready/yeasty sweetness. Light Belgian spices. And then some chili peppers. Robust coffee tones and then some milk chocolate.
The flavor tried to blend between all of the previously mentioned aromas, but the chili peppers strike forth in a \"palate wrecker\" format to really slay my tastebuds. Aftertaste is full of the chili peppers, some milk chocolate tried to cool it, but doesn’t make much effort. Finishes spicy.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV feels appropriate. Spiciness seems to hit pretty harsh.
Overall, palate wrecker through and through, would be a great candidate to end a cold Winter’s night with.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a fairly dark brown color with a thin cap of an off white foamy head that dissipated to leave just a rim of concave lace.
The aroma had a great blend of roasty coffee beans with a sweet milk and dark chocolates combining to round out with a slight vanilla bean. Robust edges of a black licorice far underneath, but just the sweet tones of it.
The flavor leads with the coffee and then soft edges of milk and dark chocolate. Black licorice is barely there. Full aftertaste of milk chocolate and coffee bean. Delicate semi-dry finish of coffee beans.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sipping quality about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV seems a tad under than what’s projected, but I’m okay with that.
Overall, extremely nice imperial stout that I would love to have again.

Poured into a pilsener glass, the appearance was a muddy semi-dark amber color with a two finger white to off-white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Messy speckled lace.
The aroma had a nice blend of some dark bready/dough malts strolling into some caramel/toffee malts. Subtle dark fruits, some apples and then the cardamom for a slight different sort of spicy effect.
The flavor leaned to the sweet side initially with those doughy/bready malts clinging to the dark fruits and apples. Once again, cardamom comes in nicely to balance. Doughy to dark fruity aftertaste with a quick dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Nice strength from the ABV.
Overall, doppelbock qualities seem to come out nicely and a nice twist of subtly bringing in the cardamom to make it a little different without distraction.

I poured my portion into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a milky brown chocolate color. Sly finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Some light lacing, somewhat stringy.
The aroma starts with a nice balance between the sweet to the roasty portions of chocolate malt to nutty maltiness. Caramel and toffee notes roll over a mild roast. Subtle grassy/earthy hops to ride underneath.
The flavor yields to the sweet roasty taste of the nuts and chocolate malts. Nutty smooth sweet aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this was about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Quite smooth with the roast playing nicely with the malts on my tongue.
Overall, really nice English styled brown ale that I would have again.
