Very spicey aroma - pepper, primarily. Bread and floral hop as well. Not sure about clove. Ruby tinged dark brown color with a beige head that left a bit rapidly. Near medium body with medium carbonation. Flavor is spice and bready malt. Alcohol is detectable. Quite a bit of floral. It reminds of Anchor’s Christmas ale, but perhaps less intense. The finish is fairly dry, and the spices last. Hard to distinguish clove from pepper. Pretty good drink.

Bottle from Corti Bros. in Sacramento. Wine frig temperature. Took a special tool to remove the plastic cork, which came out with a pop. Orange tinged gold color with a vigorous white head. Warm caramel aroma with some fruitiness. Quite pleasant. Medium body with mild, creamy carbonation. Heat shows up at once. The flavor is lightly sweet with a little fruit. The finish is pretty dry with some floral hop notes. After a few sips the alcohol tends to blend in a bit, but it is everpresent. Something of an overheated Belgian. Very drinkable. It is going well with dinner (beef).

Bottle: Pours black with a smaller tan head. Nose is mild of roasted malt and coffee, taste is similar. Not much going on, just a lingering, dry coffee flavor.

Bottle Pours a deep black with a thin tan head. Some dark roasted aroma and a roasted smokey flavor with some coffee. Lacking body and complexity. Thanks Jake

Bottled, thanks Lilith, Nigredo & Panzerfaust! Clear pale yellow, airy head. Citric nose. Very light bodied with a hint of papery bready malt. There is not much hops (or really much anything), but it’s a really drinkable and inoffensive, which I guess is what you can ask of a 3.5% lager.

Bottled, thanks Lilith, Nigredo & Panzerfaust! Clear golden, rich firm head. Flowery with light-medium body. The nose holds a lot of peppery alcohol. Fairly sweet. There’s butter as well as sulphur and lingonberries. Low bitterness.
