Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty fresh hoppy rapefruit aroma. Fruity malty hoppy flavor with hints of grapefruit. Has a fruity malty hoppy finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Pours amber with a slight beige head. Aroma is fruity. Flavor is malty and fruity. Touch of tobacco. Finishes with somewhat roasted malt, really light butter/diacetyl, and some hop. Starts to suggest toffee.

Fairly amazing to me how this beer can get such a rich chocolate-and-espresso flavor with no adjuncts. That being said, this beer is good, but not a great stout. Very dry and roasty, with an undertone of chocolate and coffee, and the finish is acceptably bitter. Kinda light in texture, and the flavors, while identifiable, never sink in for much further research. Still makes for a fascinating beverage. Or that could just be the poison dart frog toxin talking. Pours a pretty solid black with a two finger mocha head that shows some staying power. My nostrils are filled with scents of chocolate, coffee, and pine resin, but heavy on the milk chocolate. The taste is wonderful, kind of like a kicked up dry Irish stout with chocolate added. Enough roast and hops to keep everything balanced. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, moderate level of carbonation, medium body. This is a great sessionable stout. Light enough to quaff, but flavorful enough to stay interesting. If these were more available to me I would buy them, a lot.

Pours a dark brown with beautiful ruby highlights when held to light. Smallish off white head dissipates quickly. Smells of chocolate, roast, citrus hops, and licorice, mmm. Taste is chocolate up front, some dark fruit and licorice midway melding into a citrusy roasty finish. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, light carbonation and medium body. Great drinkable porter here! If these were more available to me I would buy them all the time.

Received in trade from KarrHeel03, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a clear reddish amber color with a stingy white head that recedes quickly but laces the sides quite nicely. Smells of sweet malts and spices. I pick up some cocoa, brown sugar, molasses, plums or prunes, and a touch of alcohol. There’s a subtle spice in the nose that is quite non-descript but really pleasant. Taste is sweet brown sugar and alcohol up front. Dark fruits and a tease of hop bitterness on the tongue mid way through. Medium-dry sweet malty sugary finish. Ample carbonation, slick syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied brew. I really enjoyed this one on this cold snowy day. I think it all comes together really well.
