Bottle: (complete with a little black dicky) Purple-black with a chunky tan head. Sweet pine, bread-heel, licorice scent. Taste is creamy tea and licorice....a little chocolate. Resiny, fruity hops, light earthy notes... A bit different...very bitter, but not as chocolate/coffee driven as most......more to the tea leaf side.

22oz bomber, with fabric neck thingy, pours with a clear amber body that supports a sort of weak tan head. The aroma offers up plums and dates and molasses mixed with a sense of minerals, brown sugar and a dash of chicory. The taste begins a bit neutral until it picks up modest malt sweetness, a sliver of nuttiness and then prunes and date sweet dark fruity esters. Toward the finish it lightens up with a non hop like bitterness that seems a little astringent nuttiness or mildly roasted maltiness. Not sure. Overall it lacks the richness and depth and body I enjoy in the style.

Bomber from Corti Brothers. Pours light copper with a foamy off-whte head. Aroma is herb/earth and maybe some fruit. Near full bodied. Flavor is fairly earthy and has a somewhat sharp note suggesting sweat sox. Then it goes all fresh and fruity. The earth/sox stages a comeback of sorts. It’s quite dry, and a bit - need a word that’s like astringent, but not that harsh. Finishes with a nice earth/fruit result in the mouth. Then the fruit comes back. Maybe a light stone fruit, and the earth might be like licking a dry peach skin. I’m all over the map with this.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours hazy amber with a slight head. Aroma seems sour plum! Wonderful aroma. Flavor is flowery plum with some nuance of oxidation. It’s a wonderful, serendipitous thing.
