330 ml. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems & Zoon. BBF 06/08/2015. Bottle says Brouwerij Crombe which appears to be out of business, I assume that Brouwerij Strubbe took over the name. Clear dark apple golden, fizzy faintly off-white head. Nose is sweet, dull, light sweetener, faint yeast, touch metallic apple. Taste is cardboard, artificial apple, artificial sweetener, odd paste / papier-mâché taste & feel to it, chemicals, spritz-y, grainy metallic feel, ice water. Metallic, cooked apple. Odd & very artificial, industrial-like. Very odd brew that you still manage down.

One of the Crombé beers from Zottegem taken over by Strubbe. Hazy peach blonde tripel with frothy, yellowish white head; sweet and spicy character, iron, peachy esters, soft maltiness, herbal and floral hops in the finish as well as some warming alcohol. Not the best Belgian tripel but nevertheless enjoyable if you’re into this style.

Bottle . Pours rather unclear dark blond to amber . Very big white head . Smell is malty grains , tad sweet ( barely ) . Not so intense . Taste is bit botter, aromatic sweet maltyness ( which is very nice , in fact ) . Slightly metallic, in a good way . very pleasant taste, and rather easy drinkable in general .

Strong tripel version of Crombé’s classic Oud Zottegems, since 1990, made at Strubbe since Crombé lost its brewing license. Deep cloudy peach blonde colour, thinnish off-white head; aroma had citrus peel, yeast, grass, pale malts, some cardboard; fruitiness in onset, citrus peel, yeasty and somewhat caramelly palate, herbal hop finish with warming alcohol. I might have had an old bottle at the time but I’m not sure this is still made now?

Bottle @ home. Lightly hazy orange color, average sized white head. Aroma is lightly malts, orangepeel, lightly yeast. Taste lightly malts, quite fruity, a hint of orangepeel, lightly yeasty. Decent body, average carbonation.

Strong Belgian ale with off-white head and deep orange blond colour; restrained fruitiness (apple, orange), yeasty, caramelly malt sweetness, not cloying, with mildly hop bitterish finish. I would not be surprised if this was the same as Zottegemse Grand Cru - in fact, I’m almost certain it is the same beer.
