On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a murky maroon with a small beige head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, some caramel malts, and dry earthy hops. Flavour of Belgian yeast, some candied sugar, caramel malts and subtle dark fruits. Full bodied, full of flavour without much identity. Good stuff.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy orange with a foamy white head with good lacing. Aroma of piney and resinous hops galore, a bit of honey and sufficient caramel malts. Flavour is boldly hoppy, with pungent piney and resinous hops, perfectly balanced with just enough caramel malts. Extremely flavourful and well-balanced. Excellent stuff - had to go back for another glass. One of the best local IPAs available.

On cask at the Alibi Room, pours an amber tinged black with a fairly large tan head. Aroma of maple syrup, bourbon barrels, caramel malts and dried dark fruits. Flavour brings out maple syrup and bourbon upfront, in perfect complement, without much heat from the booze or any cloying sweetness from the maple. There are secondary notes of dried dark fruits and caramel malts. Finishes on light notes of bourbon and dried fruits (figs and dates). Full-bodied and very complex. Delicious stuff - one of the better BC beers to date.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear dark mahogany with medium head that dissipates almost immediately. Not really much aroma - a bit of caramel and cola. Flavors of brown sugar, vanilla, prunes, and root beer. Expecting a bit more based on previous offerings

Cask at Central City Winter Cask Fest '13, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet dark fruits, wood and some honey. Flavour of sweet dark fruits, a bit of honey and some metallic notes. Bizarre - certainly not akin to any meads I've had. Perhaps this could use some age as it doesn't taste particularly refined. Decent stuff, but let's see where this is at in a year.

650 ml bottle. 2013 vintage: Pours black with full foamy, tan head. Aromas of black cherries, fresh cut wood, and light smoke. Flavor is a mixed bag: chocolate, prune juice, and burnt malts; light bitter finish, quite hot, with an odd balance. Good first start - next round should be great.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is lightly sour at first, with bourbon barrels, wood and molasses. Flavour is quite hot, with sweet sugary malts, bourbon barrels and a bit of subtle tartness. Medium-bodied and not typical of a bourbon barrel aged flavour. Boozy, but well-worked in. Decent BBA stout, but perhaps time could take off some of its rough edges.

Nice malt and chocolate aroma, malt and chocolate flavour, moderately sweet, with gentle roastiness; no clear signs of age, but there is a mild Sherry note that adds a vibe, adds a fruity touch, and is well integrated with the rest.
One of the best experiences I had with this beer.

Pours nicely, although the head seems short lived. The aroma is mild, roasty and chocolatey. The mouthfeel has always been too weak, so the extra aging doesn't help; the beer qualities are not bad but muffled; the barrel aging character is probably more evident; slightly boozy in the final.
Still drinkable, not a product for aging though.

Black color, small brown head. Mild aroma of chocolate and roasted malts, with a touch of vanilla. Strong body, but also strong alcohol feeling; powerful roasted malt flavor, and less dark chocolate than my last tasting; the barrel presence is minimal, and it has some liquorice; the sweetness level is rather low for an average Imperial Stout, so it should please that category of consumers. The dryness and roastiness increase the alcohol feeling.
Very good, solid, a bit too boozy maybe.

Black color, seems oily initially, but it forms a nice brownish and compact head, medium sized. Interesting aroma, with the expected vanilla and also with a lot of creamy nuances. It's full bodied, with round mouthfeel; the flavor of roasted malts is milder than expected, while the flavor of dark chocolate is more present but not as rich; it has instead a quite evident character of cream and of tobacco; and some Bourbon vanilla; correct bitterness level. The final is apparently shorter than usual and carries less of the flavor components.
Maybe it's missing a vibe, and depth, but it's already quite good.
