Notes from SK’s opening in Sept., 2016. Clearly they’ve been tweaking the recipe since then. A light hop smell that’s citrussy, but not overpowering. Amber color is clearer than the saison and wit before this, so filtering is an option here. Leggy head. The taste is big on orange juice, a little pine, and a bit of an alcohol bite.

Notes from Skeleton Key’s opening, Sept. 2016. Recipe may have been tweaked since then. Cloudy yellow beer body. The nose has a similar note of light fruit as the Sandade Wit. Clearly unfiltered. A much fruitier taste without further side notes. Almost like a white wine diluted a bit with water. Again, a fine small batch version of style that’s been yover-commercialized, though this is a bit subdued.

A quite flowery nose, but with the dryness of sage and the fruitiness of warm fermentation. Hazy, slightly brassy color. The first taste is full of those spices, with additional notes of citrus. A larger glass that I ordered after the sampler showed some cherry notes, too. From my notes when the place opened in Sept. 2016, so the recipe may have been tweaked since then.
