Description
Fiddlehead Brewing Company is located just outside of Burlington, VT in the scenic town of Shelburne. Our owner and Brewmaster Matt “Matty-O” Cohen opened the doors on New Year’s Eve of 2011 and since then we have gained worldwide acclaim with our lineup of approachable, multidimensional beers.
When we first opened in 2011, we did so with a completely manual 15 barrel system and just 30 barrels of capacity. Within the first month Fiddlehead IPA, the flagship ale, was on tap with at over 50 bars and restaurants in Vermont.
With the immediate success, we quickly outgrew the 3,000 sq foot space that was split between retail and production. After the last fermenter was added in 2015, we knew we needed a bigger boat.
In January of 2017, our brand new 10,000 sq foot brewery opened for production just behind the tasting room. The added space meant room for more fermenters as well as some much needed upgrades like a laboratory, grain silo, office space, and our own canning line. This expansion has allowed us to increase distribution of kegs and cans within our home state, branch into New York and Massachusetts, and renovate our tasting room (coming soon!).
While we do not currently offer tours of our production facility, our knowledgeable tasting room staff is always happy to chat about our beers and the brewing process. Our beer can be found on draft or in cans at over 650 Vermont establishments as well as an increasing number of locations around Massachusetts and New York State.
The tasting room remains at the original Shelburne Rd. location, as do countless memories of where it all began.

This was poured into an English pint glass. The appearance was a ruddy golden peach color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated immediately with a messy lace.
The aroma had some sweet peach, sly grassy hops for bittering, nice use of the malts for a sweet balance but not distracting.
The flavor leans sweet with a crisp grassy bitter edge of the hops. Dry semi-sweet to bitter aftertaste. Malty sweet smooth finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a very nice sesssionability about it. Mild carbonation. Smooth.
Overall, nice all around American pale ale that I would have again.

Hazy yellow, bit of white foam. Looks like pear juice. Aroma is orange, fresh and with some green weed. Tastes clean and green, grassy. Bitterness is constrained, feels like aojiru, green juice with orange juice mixed in. Some slight medical bitterness in the finish. Beautifully balanced, nice bitterness there. No way this is more than 8 %, too dangerous!

Can shared. Thanks Jon and Kaori! Pours a clear gold with a small finger of foam that dissipates fairly quickly. Big citrus and juicy mikan notes on the nose. The nose just goes on and on. Average carbonation with a medium to light body. Alcohol is completely hidden. Very dangerous. Sweet mikan juice feel with very little bitterness on the finish, maybe a touch of orange zest. Fantastic.

Light golden color. Tons of Muscat and mango nose. Super light body, drench of citrus, mango and other tropical fruits. Light bitterness. Alpha acids are very low. Unbelievably easy drinking and alcohol well hidden. Excellent.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a bronzed burnt orange color with a nice sustaining finger’s worth of foamy white head. Slow dissipation. Light stringy lace.
The aroma runs between some citrus, light pine and a sturdy malt backbone.
The flavor balances nicely between the previously mentioned aromas. Nice balance in the aftertaste, slow finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable smooth malty feel. Low carbonation.
Overall, really nice AIPA that I would have again.
