33cl bottle, no date, found in a Congolese shop in Brussels.
Dark in the glass with a fruity, woody nose. The brew starts dark, hints of stout-sourness. Roasted malt, dark fruit. Very intense and concentrated. Roasty, fruity. The alcohol is tastetable. On the tongue remains a fruity-chocolate aroma, dark dried fruits together with a smooth, moderate bitterness and hints of nice sourness.
Nice intense brew! Quite viscous. 10/10/10/10

Courtesy of and thanks to tderoeck. 720 ml. bottle sampled @ “Procrastinated Spontaneity /…………/ 2 Boekjes” tasting @ Gent. Paired with yummy veggies & veggie burger. Thx. Pours a copper burned sugar with an off-white head. Smells like sweet caramel, thinned out with burned sugar and light malts, smells a bit old. Tastes bitter herbal upfront, apple syrup, bitter metallic, thinned old, dark bread. Body is syrup, bit metallic. Having said that this is easily the finest African beer I have had so far.

Heavy 72cl bottle. No date. Found in a Congolese shop in Brussels.
Pale golden in the glass, nearly no aroma in the nose. The beer starts VERY watery, hints of malt, hints of grain. Hints of maize. It is smooth, maize-sweetish, nearly no bitterness. Dry and still sweetish. The aftertaste is watery, sweetish-grainy and very slightly bitter.
Very refreshing and very watery beer. Nice and easy to drink! --> 8/12/7/8

Bottle - Pale fizzy lager, with notes of corn and hay. By craft standards horrible, but my favorite beer in the DRC.

Bottle - Pale fizzy water with flavors of apple, corn and formaldehyde. But in the constant heat and humidity of the DRC, hits the spot. Drink warm at your own risk.

Bottle, massive thanks to me. It pours pale yellow with a medium white head. The nose is dough, grain, hint of grass and some corn/butter notes. The taste is grass, corn, crisp, dull sweetness and lemon pith with a dry, lightly bitter finish. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. Ok pale lager, which I’m sure is damn refreshing in the West-African Jungle. But it ain’t no Turbo King.
