Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of lemons, hops, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, dusty hops, and grapefruit peal, leading to a bitter finish.

bottle from ølbutikken pitch dark, smooth light brown head, a bit fluffy. looks good though.Aroma is like a sweet stout or a porter. not that roasted, a little sweet, but still some roasted malts hidden in there aroma is milder than expected for an imp stout at 10+% Flavor is much better.lots of roasted malts, dry, bitter malts, notes resembling coffee, the hoppy bitterness hides in the malts, but the bitter part can be tasted. good balance, nice one.

65 cl bottle (11%) @ olio, no BBE info
Aroma is hoppy with almost burned malt, some mocha, vegetables and hints of ash. Flavour is hoppy with mocha, some ash, tobacco, peat and hints of vegetables. Rather hoppy for an IS, close to Black IPA. The malt is almost too burned here.

660ml bottle
Pours pitch black with a massive, foamy and light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, massive amount of hops and hints of coffee and chocolate. Taste is very roasty and hoppy with a lot of ashy tobacco notes and hints of espresso coffee and chocolate. Finish is very roasty and quite bitter with notes of licorice and coffee. Almost like an imperial black IPA. Nice, tasty and quite extremely hoppy, but I like this.

5/IV/2012 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ Klaas' place - BB: n/a (2012-333) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the beer!
Note: had this beer for the first time at La Capsule in Lille, but was a little to cheery to make proper notes.
Clear very dark brown to black beer, small creamy, beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet caramel, mocha, bit of coffee, dark chocolate, sweet fruitiness underneath. MF: soft carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: mocha, dark chocolate, very fruity as well, coffee notes, fudge, caramel. Aftertaste: hoppy, cocoa powder, sweet caramel, bit minty mouth feel, dark coffee, dry bitter hops in the end. Really good stuff.

Black colour, tan head. Smell of malts, dried fruits, light sour, caramel, loads of roasted malts. Flavour of roasted malts, coffee, hops and ash. Finish is light sweet and bitter coffee. Overall a big smack in the face. And the 333th rating of the beer. Just my kind of humour.

Herber, weich hopfiger Beginn. 11/9/11/11/9/11
