Ein klassischer Fall von die Amis haben es übertrieben. Ja, man kann auch zuviel Hopfen in ein Bier geben bzw. der Hopfenberg ist nicht gut balanciert oder es gibt keine anderen Aromen die ihm Paroli bieten -wie hier. Dieses Bier ist einfach nur verdammt bitter und beißt auf der Zunge.

Bottle courtesy of me, thank me very much! Dark maroon brown color, bright beige head. Aroma of prune juice, vinous vanilla, dark plums. Taste is plums, raisins, dates, vanilla, port wine. Delicious.

750 bottle @the dmac Monmouth Park Horserace Gathering shared by dmac-rum, sweet med malt, dk fruit. T-rum/wood,sweet med malt, dk fruit-sour, 2nd earthy hops.

750 bottle-thin tan-dk brown. A-dk malt with some earthy/must character, some dk fruit, bourbon. T-follows.

GABF 2012. Pours with a pale yellow hued body with a somewhat quick to fade white head. Aromas are grainy, nutty, whtea, low acid, light esters. Flavors are lightly lactic, grainy, lemony, toasty. Somewhat watery with high carbonation, medium dry. Pretty tame.

Bottle from the source. Deep maroon brown color, almost black, small but thick brown head that settles quickly. Aroma of prunes, dates, raisins, red wine, vanilla, light spice. Taste is vinous plums, dates, brandy, vanilla. Very tasty light bodied ad fairly easy to drink.

Bottle at Paul’s tasting. Shared by Jcwattsrugger. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of moderately sour dark fruit, sherry, oak, chocolate and caramel toffee. Medium body. touch of alcohol/barrel in finish.

Bottle at Monmouth Park tasting. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of chocolate covered sour cherry, sour berry fruits, red fruits, chalky cocoa, vanilla, oak and rum. Medium body.

Bottle shared by jesterdeal at tasting at my house. Pours very dark brown. Almost no head. Nose and taste of chocolate vinegar, cocoa, oak, diluted bourbon and dark cherries covered in chocolate. Lighter medium body. Very little acidity.
