Small-scale Hefeweizen from a brewpub near Trier. Rocky, dense, yellowish white, impressive head, colour straw blonde, cloudy, bit greenish hue, vivid sparkling. Pure sweet pale malts and sourish wheat malts in the nose, delicate, fresh citrus touch, light impressions of young cheese, vanilla, freshly cut grass and dough. Soft but fresh sourish onset, citrussy, appetizing, volatile vanilla touch, then becoming doughy and a bit nutty, full and sweetish, fluffy mouthfeel, brief grassy hop bitterishness in the finish with light spicy notes. Light example of the style but I found this very appetizing and refreshing, the low scores here surprise me a bit.

Dunkelweizen from a small artisanal brewery near Trier. Very thick and stable, light beige head on a deep bronze beer with copper glow, clear and transparent but with tiny yeast particles floating around. Agreeable aroma with delicate dark malts (hazelnuts, cocoa powder), light madera touch due to ageing, banana, cloves, vanilla, bark, wheat. Neutral onset with strong carbonation, gradually deepening into a dark malt base with nutty and chocolatey character, accompanied by a light sourish wheat accent that becomes stronger as the palate evolves; finish powdery yeasty, lightly peppery hoppy and a very faint hint of coffee-like roastedness, ensuring a chocolatey character till deep into the throat. Thin mouthfeel though, even a bit watery, though the ageing may well account for that.

Der leicht säuerlich Geruch spiegelt sich im Bier nicht wieder, es startet trocken bitter mit dunklen Getreidenoten. Im Mittelteil hopfig herb, hier stört die Trockenheit etwas. Etwas röstig, dann wieder bitterer. Unsüffig, ok. 10/8/8/9//9

50cl bottle, thanks to Beerhunter111. Summer Santa 2014. Yellowish, hazy, thick creamy white head. Kellerbier -like dusty, earthy and malty. Creamy mouthfeel, malty, white bread and hay in flavor. Quite nice and easy.

50cl bottle from Beerhunter111, Vielen Dank!! Summer Santa 2014. White "label", handwritten with only the name of the brewery and the name of the beer and ABV. Pours hazy amber with a thick offwhite, thick lasting head. Aroma has caramel, earth, dark fruity notes, roasted malt. Flavor has earthy notes, bready malt, yeast and hint of popcorn?! Lasting finish of bread and some roasted malt. High drinkability, medium bodied. One of the tastier Viennas I have had in a while.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes dunkel orangegoldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch wunderbar fruchtig, hopfig. Geschmack fruchtig, dann sehr angenehm bitter, exotische Früchte, Karamell. Sehr süffiges und leichtes Bier, sehr angenehm bei warmen Temperaturen.

Süßlich hopfiger Antrunk, frisch, hell würzig. Süffig, sehr ausgewogen, spritzig. Die Hopfigkeit bleibt konstant, die Süße steigt leicht. Runder aromatischer Maibock! 12/12/11/12//12

500ml bottle @ the 5th Shrewsbury Bottle Share May 14, brought by me and thanks to Beerhunter111. Fresh compost aroma, pours a very dark brown, some malty toffee coming through. Tasty mid-share Dunkel.
