500ml for just 6-700 yen, so well worth checking out. 5.5% It pours a clear gold with a fluffy white head. The aroma is citrus fruit with pine notes. This IPA has a nice flavor with the bitter pine well balanced by some zesty citrus fruitiness & a solid malt base which was surprising considering the light color of this beer. The slightly low ABV makes it a nice sessionable IPA, good stuff.

Bottle, gift from Tom. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of coffee, tamarind sourness and nuts. Flavour of toffee, cranberry and toast. Thin body with a watery, slick texture. Soft carbonation. There’s a weird sourness that spoils this a bit.

Clear red pint with a beige head. Very light fruit aroma. Taate is fruity with a hint of malt. Its okay but a bit watery and ineffectual.

Dark caramel brown, dense off white head, some lacing
Aroma of roasted malts, touch ashy, dab of burnt toasted bread
Taste of roasted malt, dab of plain chocolate, some dark berry fruits on sides of tongue, bit restricted in flavour but the fruits come out in the finish
Palate - thin to medium body. Finish as main flavour with red berries dunked in plain chocolate
Overall - Not really a stout to me - more a light porter/premium bitter/dark lager hybrid - mishmash of styles. It’s meant to be an oatmeal stout....???. It’s not bad, it’s actually the best beer i’ve had from this brewery - the finish is flavoursome but it’s rather flat in the middle

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a broken white head. The aroma is malty with a little yeast. The flavour is medium bitter, little creamy and with a zesty hoppy palate. A nice refreshing ale. Perfect for the summer.

Bottle at Tom’s house. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of straw, grass, caramel and pine. Flavour of grassy, biscuit and faint sweetcorn. A tad cheesy. Slightly metallic finish. The 5.5% ABV is well hidden. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Not as hoppy as I was hoping for. More of a Golden Ale than an IPA.

From cask at The Crystal Palace. Poursclear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity, light toasted malty. Bitter, light breadish, toasted and herbal dry hoppy. Bitter, dry and herbal finish.
