Flip-top .75 litre bottle (most likely the French version): shared with my son on Christmas Day 2016. An off-white head sat on a reddy brown body that oozed maltiness from start to finish. More semi-sweet caramel and toffee notes than ’maple syrup’ in the nose and flavour for me. Quite liked it.

Draft: Poured a hazy beige color ale. Aroma of tropical fruit hops notes is pleasant enough. Taste is a good mix of light tropical fruit notes with a simple malt base. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Refreshing and well put together.

Draft: Poured a reddish color ale. Aroma of liquorice and star anise is pretty dominant with beets providing color more than anything else flavour wise. Taste is a good mix of star anise with some light dry caramel malt. Average body with good carbonation. Well spiced beer.

Pours a dark brown colour with cola highlights, big creamy beige head, good retention and thick lace. Grassy hop notes aromas with roasted malts, hints of caramel and molasses. The taste is a little more bitter that the roasted malts. The mouthfeel has a nice dryness and bitterness that lingers. A pretty good hoppy brew for those who prefer their black IPAs with more hops, less roasted malts.
