Description
Moncada is more than a brewery – it’s our home. When Julio Moncada first came travelling through West London in 2001 he instantly fell in love with the place. As a dedicated “foodie” he first wanted to start a deli, but then he had an even better idea – the Moncada Brewery.

We began Moncada Brewery in the colourful area of Notting Hill. Julio surrounded himself with like-minded craft beer obsessives and became inspired by the neighbourhood – creative, vibrant and hemmed with diversity – and the Notting Hill beer range was born, which makes up our core range today.

Later, in 2017, we moved to Dollis Hill to expand and explore a new locality. A new place marked a new start, and the Blueprint beer series was launched, focusing on experimentation and limited edition releases, with a touch of eccentricity.

Relocated once more in Spring 2018 to the current address.

5.0% Cask at Merton Winter BF 2016. Black beer lasting tan head. Roasted coconut vanilla chocolate aroma. Yes some oak in the mouth. Woody. Lacks condition. Too woody. Vanilla is fine. It’s too much like licking a tree. Liked the chocolate though. Hmmm. Thick.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Luscious aroma, with definite notes of raspberry purée, some cocoa, scorched earth. Medium sweet flavor, not cloying, with gooey chocolate character, lacing of juicy raspberry, mellow undertones of peanut butter, slight ashy roast bitterness. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with average carbonation and massaging texture. Lightly warming on the finish, with just a bit of sticky sweetness, some chocolate-covered raspberries, baking cocoa, mild char, subtle bitter earth and raspberry seed, raisins. A well executed concept beer. Great stuff.

Keg at Moncada Tap, Friday 12th February 2016 in company of Ang’, Julio and the rest of the Moncada crew. Black as yer like with a beige head. Wow this has a lovely nose, lots of peanut butter though when compared to the Yellow Belly (Sundae) which I guess we did (we had a bottle of that and the Lervig 3 bean), you are surprised at how much stronger the Yellow Belly Sundae peanut butter aroma is. This is a real corker from Moncada, lovely silky-smooth mouthfeel the peanut butter mingles well with a lovely maltiness lots of smooth chocolate. This was very popular this evening amongst the group of drinkers at the Taproom. I loved this (so did Loz) A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

Proper Berliner Weisse. Lactone heavy. Lenon tart. Citrus juice. Starburst sweets. Fine carbonation. Soft malts. So dank and juicy. Awesome

Pigs Ear Day 4. Cask. Very hazy gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Modest carbonation. Mildly sweet pale malts. A bit of green hop dry bitterness. Mild tangerine. Touch of candy fruits. Light finish. Not bad.
