Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton. Pours golden amber with a medium sized foamy almost white head and excellent lacing. The aroma is mainly malts and caramel with some hints of autumn fruits. In the mouth in fluctuates on the edges of sweet and bitter with malts, caramel and some traditional hoppiness. Later there are hints of honey, barley sgar and apricot. Bitterness wins out in the slightly dry finish. This is decent.

Cask at Old Bush Revived, Rowley Regis. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with foamy creamy-yellow head and good lacing. There’s malts and oats in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet, but a little thin. Flavour has plenty of oats, and also roasted malts, liquorice and vanilla. Later on there are hints of chocolate and plums. Sweetness lasts into the finish. This is decent – but a bit lacking in body.

Hand pulled half pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on 5th February 2025, just after buying a new (second hand) car. Light golden body, white crust. Citrus leanings in both the nose and taste, semi bitter and show casing the Amarillo and Mosaic hops, just enough malts to give a semblance of balance.
