A half pint from draft at The Bear in Paddington area. Clear amber color with a minimal skim of light tan foam. I smelled the peat immediately and there was little room for other than a spot of ripe fruit, no up front from the server. The taste was little different, peaty smoke, caramel, red plums and grain. Different drummers.

Dark amber-brown with ruby highlights. A slight beige head. Aromas of strawberries and brown bread, a liqueur-like alcohol, sweet and fruity. Full-bodied, heavy yet velvety. Complex flavour, with a touch of sweetness at first, then dried fruit, wood, and fruit liqueur, followed by a herbal bitterness and a long, drying finish. Excellent!

Keg at Craft Beer Co Covent Garden. Darkest brown. Thin beige head. Aroma has sweet honey and smoke and barrel - peat? Flavourwise the barrel takes the lead - defo peaty - followed by light honey sweetness. Medium bodied. Slightly oily. Soft-flat carbonation. Long dry finish. Overly polite Impy Stout.
