Description
Our Story
Hello! We are an independent craft brewery in downtown Phoenix, on the border of the Roosevelt and Encanto neighborhoods. Our beers explore the boundaries of what it means to be a farmhouse style beer— we include high quality local and seasonal ingredients to create unique, flavorful beers and explore a wide range of styles from funky saisons and sours to modern IPAs and ales.

We are located in the building that was home to beloved Easley’s Fun Shop for over 70 years and are aiming to continue the tradition of a family business with a strong focus on community. Our small foundational team is the beating heart behind the delicious beer and personal connection in our space and we are so thankful for their energy and creativity in these early months.

We opened our doors in May 2022 but we started growing our vision 2 years earlier. Working remotely and isolating indoors, we envisioned a business that would contribute to the community– create connections among our neighbors, highlight artists and small businesses and support local organizations and causes.

Through our beers, we purchase the highest quality ingredients we can find, purchase seasonal fruits and source local grains and malts from local farms that feed our community and demonstrate sustainable practices.

‍Through our taproom, we look to cultivate an inclusive space that is welcoming to everyone, creating connection through our very varied interests. We seek out high quality non-alcoholic options so more people feel welcome in our space, and we aim to fill our taproom with personal details, buying small, promoting artists, highlighting local businesses that we admire and hosting live music.

‍Through our choices, we have committed to donate 1% of our revenue to 1% for the Planet. Additionally, we regularly support local organizations both through monetary donations and by sharing our space and our platform.

We will promote what inspires us and encourage community engagement. Breweries can be about more than just beer and as we grow, we will continually look for ways to realize our vision. So, welcome to our new home at Roses by the Stairs! May you find delicious cold beer, a delightful board game, friendly people and creative inspiration within!!

Can from Tavour. Pours gold with a large tan head that didn't persist. Caramel aroma. Med body. Flavor is caramel malt. Fairly dry and balanced bitter. Hop is lightly spicy, but doesn't seem grassy. Definitely some wood notes. Nice drink.

Tavour: pours hazy but not murky light yellow with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, lime, Nectaron leaves its mark. Taste is lightly bitter, and it is less sweet than some of its competitors, at least at first. But later sips were certainly sugary. Generally quite good.

Pint crowler pours with a somewhat murky mahogany colored body that supports a thin ring of tan bubbles. The aroma offers up brown sugar stewed plums, a bit of dates, a sense of maltiness and then warming whiskey and booziness at the end of the draw. The taste delivers full slick sweet richness where the beer and barrel treatment are balanced and tasty. I get sweet slick prunes and dates as well as reduced molasses to brown sugar like sugars to midway. Then the smooth whiskey treatment joins in along with the big ABV to help counter the rich slick sweetness that has been achieved. This is a terrific sipper.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear gold with a transient white head. Aroma of grass/spice and tea. Med body or so. Pale, slightly bready malt. Flavor suggest some sort of grapefruit. Some grass/spice. Dry and nicely bitter. Unusual flavor for a pils, but it's quite good.

Aromas are citrus, resin, stone fruit, malt. Flavors are similar to nose with citrus and stone fruit coming out more. Good balance between bitter, sweet and carbonation. Tasty.

Aromas are a touch old resin, citrus, tropical fruit, floral, curry. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose leaving out the resin and enhancing the tropical fruit and citrus. Maybe a touch of bubble gum. Goodbody and great carbonation. Nice beer overall.
