Description
Our Story
Hello! We are an independent craft brewery in downtown Phoenix, on the border of the Roosevelt and Encanto neighborhoods. Our beers explore the boundaries of what it means to be a farmhouse style beer— we include high quality local and seasonal ingredients to create unique, flavorful beers and explore a wide range of styles from funky saisons and sours to modern IPAs and ales.

We are located in the building that was home to beloved Easley’s Fun Shop for over 70 years and are aiming to continue the tradition of a family business with a strong focus on community. Our small foundational team is the beating heart behind the delicious beer and personal connection in our space and we are so thankful for their energy and creativity in these early months.

We opened our doors in May 2022 but we started growing our vision 2 years earlier. Working remotely and isolating indoors, we envisioned a business that would contribute to the community– create connections among our neighbors, highlight artists and small businesses and support local organizations and causes.

Through our beers, we purchase the highest quality ingredients we can find, purchase seasonal fruits and source local grains and malts from local farms that feed our community and demonstrate sustainable practices.

‍Through our taproom, we look to cultivate an inclusive space that is welcoming to everyone, creating connection through our very varied interests. We seek out high quality non-alcoholic options so more people feel welcome in our space, and we aim to fill our taproom with personal details, buying small, promoting artists, highlighting local businesses that we admire and hosting live music.

‍Through our choices, we have committed to donate 1% of our revenue to 1% for the Planet. Additionally, we regularly support local organizations both through monetary donations and by sharing our space and our platform.

We will promote what inspires us and encourage community engagement. Breweries can be about more than just beer and as we grow, we will continually look for ways to realize our vision. So, welcome to our new home at Roses by the Stairs! May you find delicious cold beer, a delightful board game, friendly people and creative inspiration within!!

16oz can from Tavour. Clear amber pour with a thin, firmly layer of beige foam. Pumpkin pie spice leads the aroma, some pumpkin noticable. Cinnamon and other savory spice open the taste, spicy, mouth coating dry. I thought I was done with this style for the season.

Can from Tavour: pours a clear amber with an off white head. Aroma is pretty pleasant with spice, malts, and caramel. Taste, by virtue of actually adding pumpkin to a pumpkin beer, is rather bitter and sort of medicinal. It gets better as it warms up a bit but my first sips were decidedly unpleasant. The rest of my sips were moderately so. They clearly put thought and effort into this, but it really did not do it for me.

Draft.

A- Mahogany brown color, dark liquid, beige head.

A- Raisins, butterscotch, plum, whisky.

F- Raisins, caramel bread, brown sugar, whisky, vanilla, slightly sweet.

P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly boozy finish.

O- Saw this on Tavour and since I was in Phoenix the next day passed on the bottle and went to visit instead. Had three beers here the other two which were mediocre, but this was absolutely worth the quick detour to visit. Outstanding beer even for the style. Complex, balanced, so good. Now I wish I would've bought a bottle or at least had another pour. Nice stuff.

Draft.

A- Brown color, dark liquid, light brown head.

A- Peanut butter, nutty, cocoa.

F- Bitter, nutty, roasty, mild pie spice, slightly sweet.

T- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly unbalanced finish.

O- Looks like the creama on an espresso shot. The aroma was fairly nice and definitely hit the nutty pie aspect but the taste was a let down. Just didn't blend well. Okay.
