Description
Our Story
Hello! We are an independent craft brewery in downtown Phoenix, on the border of the Roosevelt and Encanto neighborhoods. Our beers explore the boundaries of what it means to be a farmhouse style beer— we include high quality local and seasonal ingredients to create unique, flavorful beers and explore a wide range of styles from funky saisons and sours to modern IPAs and ales.

We are located in the building that was home to beloved Easley’s Fun Shop for over 70 years and are aiming to continue the tradition of a family business with a strong focus on community. Our small foundational team is the beating heart behind the delicious beer and personal connection in our space and we are so thankful for their energy and creativity in these early months.

We opened our doors in May 2022 but we started growing our vision 2 years earlier. Working remotely and isolating indoors, we envisioned a business that would contribute to the community– create connections among our neighbors, highlight artists and small businesses and support local organizations and causes.

Through our beers, we purchase the highest quality ingredients we can find, purchase seasonal fruits and source local grains and malts from local farms that feed our community and demonstrate sustainable practices.

‍Through our taproom, we look to cultivate an inclusive space that is welcoming to everyone, creating connection through our very varied interests. We seek out high quality non-alcoholic options so more people feel welcome in our space, and we aim to fill our taproom with personal details, buying small, promoting artists, highlighting local businesses that we admire and hosting live music.

‍Through our choices, we have committed to donate 1% of our revenue to 1% for the Planet. Additionally, we regularly support local organizations both through monetary donations and by sharing our space and our platform.

We will promote what inspires us and encourage community engagement. Breweries can be about more than just beer and as we grow, we will continually look for ways to realize our vision. So, welcome to our new home at Roses by the Stairs! May you find delicious cold beer, a delightful board game, friendly people and creative inspiration within!!

Aromas are quality traditional pale lager - bread dough, and grain. Flavors are similar to nose, a little more sweet than bitter with decent carbonation and body. Easy drinking satisfying beer.

Pint can pours with a crystal clear copper colored body that has thin golden hues and supports a white head. The modest aroma offers up tangelo, pineapple, a dash of peach and then a faint berry note. The taste delivers nice hop bitterness amidst a central slick malt sweetness. Like the nose I'm getting citrusy tangelo to tangerine, a bit of pineapple and then a blend of berry, mango and cantaloupe. Pretty nice.

Aromas are citrus and resin with a little sand. Flavors are similar to nose, add in some mild sweet fruit and lose the sand. Full bodied in good carbonation. Decent but not great.

Aromas are mainly resin, citrus pith, dry grain and a hint of onion. Flavors are similar to nose, mildly sweet up front with a bit of MJ and later just right bitter. Slightly soft carbonation and an easy bittersweet finish. Nice beer.

16oz can from Tavour. Cloudy golden pour with a stiff, rocky white head, big chunks of lacing. Light grainy aroma, bready. Taste is biscuity, mild sweetness, crackers, fresh baked bread and a kiss of lemon.

Pint can pours with a crystal clear deep gold body that supports a nice white head of foam. The aroma offers up a cloud of floral hops and some sweet smelling light skinned fruity esters with a hit of malts and biscuit malts in the background. The taste delivers a blend of bitter floral hops and sweet fruity apple and pear like esters. It strays into being on the sweet and estery side as well as coming across less than crispy. All in all a decent beer but comes up short as a Kölsch.

Dark brown, thin head. Aroma full of nutmeg, spices, not picking up the plum. Some cinnamon, some dark malts. Goes full pumpkin spice without being egregious bullshit. Probably because of the malt balance.

Orangey-salmon colour, thin head. Tart, I mean a bit of nar but not much. A pekmez impy might be a better take on a pomegranate beer. This doesn't really bring out the pomegranate enough for me.
