Dark brown, tan head. Toasted dry malt nose. Lightly toasted, sweet mid with medium length and strength bitterness. Great lacing

Very dark. Well, the body is thick and starts out molassesy but then the malt character just fizzles out. Not much follow-through. It's 9.3%, so it teases a bigger stout then finishes disappointing.

Bright, amber with a thin head. Decent hop, some pine, vague clementine. Lots of biscuity pale malt. Respectable.

5oz pour at The Magnet. Pours murky yellow with a small white head. Plenty of pithy citrus and a touch of dank oils on the nose. Flavour has juicy citrus, dankness underneath, chalky. Not good, but could be worse.

473 ml can. Pours black with a full tan head. Aromas of chocolate, soft vanilla, and light roasty malts. Flavors of dry dark chocolate and roasted malts. Simple. Good.

473mL can, pours jet black with a medium light brown head. Nose has plenty of roasted malt, dry dark chocolate, and a touch of earthy coffee. Flavour is bold and full-bodied, with big dry dark chocolate, roasted malt, and a touch of earthy coffee. Dry, chocolatey, roasty and yet quite drinkable. Not the most expressive or complex malt base, but it’s a nicely structured beer.

473 ml can. Pours a dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of dusty cocoa, a bit of nuts and roasted malts. Flavors of roasted barley. A plain but OK porter.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Black colour with brown, compact head. Dark chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Medium body, the mouthfeel is smooth; the roasted malt character is upfront, cacao, a bit earthy, ashes too; some alcohol warmth.
It plays too much with the burnt elements, for me, but it's reasonably well done.

16oz (thx, Alex!) @ Ryan's. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: grassy and roasty, bold-ish. Taste: along the same lines, bitter roast, grass, ashy. Overall: it has a nice and smooth body, but I am not a fan of the grassy, roasty, and bitter flavor profile.
