440ml can at home on 17th Jan 2014 after sharing another can with the brewer/owner of Dickensian Brewery during the same afternoon. Nice clear body, amber, gold or light copper? You decide. White head on top.Malty nose and taste front, semi-sweet with caramel and toffee esters in the nose, these carry on into the mouth and give the beer a strong malty backbone. Mild bitter and metallic feel to the aftertaste, otherwise a pleasant and unexpected surprise from a supermarket tin.

Bottle from the Coop. Appearance - pale golden with a proportionate head. Nose - slight butterscotch but floral honey dominant. A lime note in there. Taste - sweet honey and malt. Again citrus note on the back. Palate - light to medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a finish that could be cleaner. Overall - solid enough.

Bottle from the Coop. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - butterscotch from arm’s length away. Closer it’s sweet lemon. Taste - lightly fudgey. Pale malt too so maybe popcorn. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that is just too sweet to bring refreshment. Overall - it’s an also ran I’m afraid.
