Bottle. Beer Central Sheffield. Clear very dark brown. Decent tan head is lasting and semi lacing. Nose has vanilla pod. Bitter chocolate. Some ashy roast malt. Taste has a chocolate sweetness and pretty full ashy earthy bitterness. Good depth of flavour. Fine carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish.

Bottle. Beer Central Sheffield. Not far off black. Thin and dense sticky beige foam. Nose has a CDA thing. Scorched citrus and well roasted malt. Some grass clippings. Taste has a robust roast malt sweetness. Some residue fruit sweetness. Plenty of body here. Foamy carbonation. Bit of tartness adds to a fairly big roast malt bitterness on the finish. BIPA for me any day.

Bottle. Beer Central Sheffield. Soft haze on a medium gold. Very decent off white foam is lasting and semi lacing. Nose has spicy hop leaf. Distinct peppery notes. Some well ripe orange. Touch of minty herb. Very interesting. Taste is a little dry and lightly herbal bitter. Touch of grainy sweetness. Clean and refreshing. Soft foamy carbonation. Light to moderate bitterness to finish. Great stuff. Like this hop on first go.

Gravity cask at the 31st Ealing Beer Festival, Walpole Park, 15/07/22. Black with a well presented tan covering that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is chocolate pudding, dark malts, toffee, brown sugars. Taste comprises fruit loaf, tobacco, chocolate, light spice, brown bread. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Solid flavoursome mild.

Gravity cask at the 31st Ealing Beer Festival, Walpole Park, 15/07/22. Black with a decent tan swirl. Nose is roast malts, toffee, charr, cocoa powder, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises roasted bite, dark malts, toffee, dates, raisins, charr. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a hint of hops. Decent stout.

Cask at the Pup and Duckling, Solihull. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, light lemon citrus, light floral, piney hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Crewe Dog, Crewe. Pours very dark reddish-brown with a large foamy cream head and good lacing. Roast malts and toffee are the mainstays in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sweet with a creamy texture. Fudge and chocolate are the main flavours, along with some toffee and hints of molasses. Surprisingly, some bitterness comes out in the finish. This is very nice and decidedly swiggable – though I suspect a session dirnking this would soon get too much.
