Cask @ The Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury. Pours clear gold with white head. Good smooth tropical fruit aroma. Taste is vibrant grapefruit & citrus fruits, smooth and sessionable. Decent cask citra.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Pours a dull looking, pale gold. Scummy, off white head. Decent, albeit subtle, fresh hop. Notes of dried citrus peel. Grapefruit zest. Some earthy notes. Taste is fairly bitter. Minimal sweetness. Hop oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Long, zesty bitter finish, with some of the earthiness on the close.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Murky gold. Film of grey head. Nose has a hint of pear. Some cereal. Nothing outstanding. Taste is moderately bitter. Some grain sweetness. Oily palate. Soft carbonation. Moderately bitter finish. Lacking any vibrancy. Compared with this brewer’s usual output, this is poor.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Been hunting this one on cask for a while, but the buggers always sell out too quick! Anyhoo, it’s hazy, pale amber. Some bubbles of off white head. Well balanced nose of ginger biscuit malts and crisp, tangy fresh hop. Notes of orange zest. Ripe peach. Peach stone. Taste has fruity sweetness, and good, orange pith bitterness. Soft carbonation. Lightly oily mouthfeel. Long, astringently bitter finish. Good stuff.

Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Just about clear gold. Thin, dense, messy, lasting, sticky, white head. Good looker. Nose has an earthy, pithy, citrus ring to it. Bit of a dessert apple thing, curiously. Sweet, malty backbone. Taste is sweet, then pithy, earthy bitter. Medium body. Finishes pithy bitter. Be better in a day or two this. Not that it’ll last that long...

Cask. Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield. Clear gold. Thick, bubbly, lasting, white head. Big, juicy fruit aroma. Ripe orange. Peach. Mango. Sweet, toffee malts. Some cereal grain. Taste is light sweet. Moderately bitter. Soft mouthfeel. Decent body. Moderately bitter finish. The hops seem a bit toned down in this one, compared to others, and comes over a little sweet. Still easy drinking, though.

Cask, Shakespeares, Sheffield. Bright gold. Thick, bubbly, lasting, white head. Big, ripe citrus hop. Some gooseberry tang. Honeyed malts. Smells beautifully fresh. Taste is light, zesty bitter. More of the honey sweet thing on the lips. Crisp and clean. Smooth and airy at the same time. Zesty, pithy bitterness rises toward the end. Stunning, frankly.

Cask. Rutland Arms, Sheffield. Clear, very dark brown. Creamy, thick, bubble troubled, sticky, tan head. Looks great. Head looks like a thick chocolate milkshake. Nose has thick, roast chocolate malts. Some vinous fruits. Earthy, grassy hop. Some spicy hop. Taste has a treacle sweetness, turning spicy, earthy bitter. Full bodied. Slick mouthfeel. Drinks under the ABV. Robust bitter finish. I added this as a BIPA, but it could pass as a stout easily enough. Either way, it’s very decent.
