Description
Kirkstall Brewery was inspired by the rich brewing history of Kirkstall village, which later formed part of the city of Leeds. The brewing company boasts a rich history spanning from the 12th century, where the Cistercian monks founded Kirkstall Abbey and began the area’s brewing legacy. The original Kirkstall Brewery was founded in 1871 and was in operation till 1983 when it was closed by its last owners, Whitbread. The buildings have been well preserved and are now home to students of Leeds Metropolitan University. The new Kirkstall Brewery is located on the Leeds Liverpool canal, in the shadow of the original brewery, reviving the tradition of brewing in Kirkstall and the inspiration to once again make the name famous for great beer.

Hand pumped at Malto, Riccione, Italy. Pours a loaded brilliant gold, transparent, with very fine white foam. Aroma is earthy, a little malty. Body is average, with no carbonation. Taste is balanced by a nice earthy bitterness. Final is average.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 24th September 2025. Very hazy gold with shallow off-white foam affording full lacing. Tropical fruits aroma. Tangy and crisp blend of fruits in-mouth, before a finish dominated by bitter grasses. Light bodied with a crisp mouthfeel.

Cask at The Star & Garter, Bromley. Nose is orange marmalade, peach, apricot jam. Taste is all of the above plus some banana toffee. Malty sweet, has a stone fruit jammy vibe. Nice.

Cask at the Duke of St Albans, Highgate on 7th September 2025. Just the hazy side of clear gold with a lasting off-white foam and full lacing. Fruity aroma. Fruity and grassy in-mouth, with citrus and a savoury nutty transient and hints of salt. Grassy hops, nutty malts and fruitiness to finish. A smooth mouthfeel and a fair amount of body.

Venus is moving through the star Pollux in our observable galaxy tonight. This galaxy is a pretty tropical fruity single-hop brew, but not entirely, there's a good hoppiness as well as the aforementioned in both aroma and taste. Full-bodied, quite crisp so nice water going down the palate here.

ОТличное фруктовое пиво, даже без химозы что меня удивило. Есть реально черри с косточкой. Питко при этом, в меру сахарно.
