21st Aug 2016: cask half-pint in ’Cobblers’ a micro bar in Filey, Yorkshire. Black bodied, lightly tanned head. Mild honey notes in both the nose and taste, almost hidden by the dark fruit and maltiness of the brew: one of the best beers I have had from Milestone so far.

Cask at the Monk’s Retreat (JDW), Reading. Brown with a middling white head. Coffee, roasty malt and a little chocolate. Berries and toffee follow. Some dryness. Quite like this. It’s a bit like a mix of an ESB and a stout. An extra stouty bitter maybe?

Keg tap at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. Brown/mahogany, with a fairly tight sandalwood head. Faint aroma of plums and chocolate, but not so much to it. Lovely sweet malty taste, with notable hoppy bitterness in the finish. Chocolate, charcoal and more plum in the medium to long finish. Nicely carbonated. Decent stuff indeed.

Tried at the Three Horseshoes, Waddington. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is citrus and tropical with slight floral notes. Taste sweet to mid bitter finish.

Cask @ Brewfactory Bar, Bradford. Bright golden ale, clear, with a creamy head. Hoppy to an extent, but there is a fair malty influence in proceedings, which subdues its possible fruits. Dryish tasting to an extent, but easy-drinking in the main.
