The Alchemist is a family run brewery specializing in fresh, unfiltered IPA. John and Jen Kimmich originally opened The Alchemist as a 60 seat brew pub in the village of Waterbury in 2003. After eight years of success and growing popularity, they decided to open a small production brewery. Today The Alchemist currently operates two breweries in Vermont and distributes Heady Topper and Focal Banger throughout the state.

Brilliant white rocky head stayed on a vivid golden coloured body. Zesty citrus & pine aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a tingle in the back. Bitter citrus, pine, resinous & orange tastes with a long pithy finish. Excellent.

16oz can in The Alchemist beer garden. Great laden pour, foamy head. Hoppy aroma, floral notes. Taste is caramel, pine, green, woody, grassy, floral. Tingly, sharp finish. Lots going on here.

Rocky white head on vivid golden coloured body. Juicy aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the tongue thinning out to dry clean. Orange, pineapple, mango & hopped up tastes with bitter earthy finish. Excellent.

Pours slightly hazed , darker blonde. Medium sized white head. Scent is rich, pine, harsh green side, yet smooth in it's usage. Peppery almost. Taste is Quite bitter, sharp and dry. mild piny notes. Still recognizable Alchemist ( probably their yeast) which is always more than anjoyable. Powerfull IPA with a wink to West Coast style, it seems, although the taste is less piney than the nose made me think. Obviously, an easy drinkability makes sure this can won't last long. Lovely !

Pours mahogany tinged black into a snifter. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Dark chocolate, licorice and soy aromas. Dry and sharp with dark chocolate, salty licorice and dark pit fruit front to back. Lasting hot chocolate aromas.

Pours murky mango into a tulip. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Mango and peach aromas. Sharp with hot mango and bitter apple front to back. Lasting hot pith finish.
