Nice, dark copper-colour. Pleasant caramel-ish aroma. The flavour starts off in a caramel-ish way but is soon overtaken by the taste of bitter almonds. The bitter almonds get more and more dominant and after half a bottle my taste buds raise the white flag screaming: Please, please no more off this!!

Dark brown; ginger and dark malts (mostly coffee, but some vienna malt as well) join forces here. Fairly sweet beer, with the ginger playing the balancing role. If you've ever dabbled with ginger brown ales as a homebrewer (as I did), this is an example of how to do it right.

Chewy maltiness, earthy palate, sweet accent in the finish. I found it a straightforward English pale, a little stronger and chewier than most.
