Description
Shiny was established in 2012, as a small scale operation, brewing in Derby mainly for its brew pub. Now based in the beautiful village of Little Eaton, just outside of Derby. The brewery is based in the centre of the village and has a taproom which features all Shiny’s new beers and one off pilots. Our beer story began with untraditional highly hopped cask beer and now has evolved into brewing a range of cask, keg and cans, the ethos is still the same brew beers we love to drink which means lots of hops! All beers are unfined and a good number of our core range is certified Gluten Free.

Hazy orange gold with a small bubbly white head and a tart fruit aroma. Creamy smooth with a touch of fizz, pulpy fruit with a nice tartness and a dry finish.

Gravity cask at the Ale Pole, Daventry. Dark brown with an uneven ring of tan head. Coffee grounds aroma, some paper, some red grape. Sweet taste, more coffee with some sarsaparilla and light notes of Marmite. Medium body, very soft carbonation. All in all a bit muddled and not Shiny's best.

Hand pulled half pint at the Royal William IV, Lincoln on 28th November 2025. Hazed golden orange body, white crown. A mix of citrusy hops giving a variety of tropical fruit esters and flavours, wasn't a huge fan to be honest.

440ml can, taken away from the Blue Boar, Leicester and drunk at home. Dark brown, opaque with a ring of beige head. Raspberry on the big aroma along with gooey dark chocolate. Taste is a bit off for me, not too sweet with a bit of berry sourness. More chocolate notes in the finish. Thick body with low carbonation. It’s okay. I want more from an imperial stout.
