Description
The Žatec (Saaz) region is famous worldwide for its unchallenged hops so it doesn't come as a surprise that brewing started way back in the Middle Ages. In 1261 the Society of Žatec Privileged Brewers was established. Close to the end of the 18th century, the Žatec breweries together were not able to cover the full market demand for beer so after 30 years of hesitation it was finally decided to build a new brewery in 1797 where brewing started in 1801. After the German occupation the brewery was nationalized. In 1995 reprivatisation took place and in 2014 the brewery was acquired by Carlsberg. Brewery closed in Spring 2022. A new microbrewery with new ownership started brewing, using its brands, in 2023.

Bottled. Mahogany colour. Vague coffee aroma. Sweet and soft, lightly roasty. A very discrete beer with low bitterness and no flaws.

Bottled. Pale golden. Light cardboard aroma. Light bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel amd surprisingly little hop character for a beer brewed in the heart of what might be the world’s most known hop district. Surprisingly lacking in character.

I wonder if Premium and Export are different beers. I put this to Premium though in Finland this is called "Export". This one has higher ABV and 12 degrees plato.
Golden, good white head, lace. Honey sweetish hoppy nose - very Czech-like. Medium-bodied, sweet hoppy flavor. Clean, fair Czech fair session beer.

Tapped. Golden colour with huge white foamy head. Strong malty nose with fruitish hints. Strong malty citric semi-bitter flavour. Bittersweet aftertaste. Mouthdrying. From the aroma I waited for a standard Czech beer, but the flavour was a nice surprise.

Golden color. Simple aroma. Some malt taste, a honey touch, but lacking of some aromatic hop; the body is fairly structured and sweet, becoming well bitter towards the end. Pleasant, not impressing.

Canned, sold as as "Böhmisch Export 12" in Germany. Golden colour, creamy head. Light oily butterscotch aroma. Medium dry, clean hard mouthfeel, grassy bitter finish. Not more than decent.

Looks like it should. Smells slightly soapy, but has a lovely complex hoptaste well balanced with the body, which lingers on long after.
