Description
Wild Card Brewery was founded in 2012 at the Ravenswood Industrial Estate Walthamstow.

We brewed Mon-Fri and come the weekend, we would open the brewery doors and serve up our beers. With support from the local community our shed became one of Walthamstow's best loved bars, hosting beer festivals, tap takeovers and live music.

Meanwhile, in the brewery, Jaega was working away, tweaking old recipes and coming up with new ones. By 2017 she had 2 award winning beers under her belt and was struggling to make enough beer to keep up with demand - we were going to need a bigger brewery. So in 2017, we started a crowdfunding campaign to help us move the brewery to a bigger site.

In 2018 the brewery moved over to Lockwood Way, where we have doubled capacity - which means lots of Wild Card beer for all.

Wild Card Brewery now has two tap rooms in Walthamstow, and our beer is available in pubs, bars, restaurants and supermarkets across the UK.

440ml can. Poured a clear dark pink colour with a fizzy, short-lived light pink head. The aroma is yeast, big cherries. The flavour is moderate to light sour, with a light, slightly watery, crisp, mineral, light tart cherry fruit palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Light fresh, fruity and refreshing. Won’t win many awards but it hits the mark on a hot day.

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Brum. Aroma of hedgerow (well, figuratively), citrus and pine. Hazy pale gold. Thick fluffy white head. Light-medium sour with a bitter edge. Herb and citrus. Light bodied. Thin but slick. Average carbonation. Dry astringent finish. Refreshing stuff. Slips down well. However once I refilled the glass it seemed to take on a more lactose-esque taste which dented my appreciation.

Danke an minutemat. Fein säuerlicher Beginn mit deutlich salzigem Kern. Erfrischend, dabei eher wenig fruchtig, mildes helles Malz. Süffig, leider nicht sonderlich ausdrucksstark. Okay. 12/8/9/8/10/8

440ml can. Pourd a deep pink, no head. Aroma brings a light berry like cordial fruitiness to mind. Light gose character overall, simplistic and light with an indistinct fruity character, not jumping out as cherries specifically. Fine but not spectacular.

Keg at the Alexandra Hotel, Derby. Clear, deep gold, with some visivle carbonation and a good bit of lacing on the glass. Strong astringency in the nose, with pine and tangerine notes to the fore. Bittersweet with an intense hop burn. Cointreau and clove in the aftertaste. This is an intense experience, a lovely stronger beer from Wild Card.
