Portobello was founded by Rob Jenkins & Farooq Khalid in September 2012. Rob is a beer industry veteran who’s worked across the industry in a career spanning 30+ years. Farooq is a brewing and engineering whizz who is just as comfortable designing & building new bits of brew kit as he is devising delicious recipes.

Cask at House of Hop, Darlington. Pours clear yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light lemon and biscuit. Taste is more of the same. Light bitter finish.

Cask handpull at Barrel Vault JDW St P. Clear gold colour lasting white head. OK bland golden ale. Doesn't do much. Vague citrus hops. It's OK but just like every other golden summer blond beer. Some dryness on the finish.

Cask at the Barrel Vault, St Pancras on 20th June 2026. Amber with shallow, loose foam and partial lacing. Pungent aroma. Tangy fruitiness and citrus zest in-mouth. Zesty finish with lush grassiness. Full to medium bodied with a velvet smooth mouthfeel.

Cask at the Barrel Vault, St Pancras on 9th May 2026. Almost clear amber with shallow off-white foam and partial, clumpy lacing. Leafy hops aroma. Nutty malts, leafy hops and fruitiness in-mouth, and a rounded complex finish. Plenty of body and an engaging mouthfeel.
