From a 375ml can on 29/3/2026. Pours a slightly opaque golden with a smallish head. Has a nice aroma punchy aroma of citrus, pine and hints of caramel. The main reason I find most Oz brewed WC IPAs fairly uninspiring is they invariably lack the caramel and biscuit malt character that's often a mainstay in the good US brews in the style. But this has a that nice chewy malty backbone with biscuit and caramel and even a hint of butterscotch. Orange and lemon present fruit wise, leading into a firm, satisfying pine/resin hops which linger in the mouth. Silky mouthfeel with moderate to average carbonation. I really like this one - such a treat to find something made here with genuine WC character.

A big malty WCIPA with plenty of hops. Aromas of pine, stone fruit, caramel and bread. Grapefruit and pine in the mouth with a syrupy mouthfeel.

From a 375ml can (2021 vintage, abv 13.5%) on 20/10/2022 (shared with Butz). Pours near black with zero head. Has a huge boozy, dark dried fruit nose. Tastes super vinous - sour red grape skin, blackcurrant, and unripe blackberries, prunes and raisins. Finishes hot, boozy and a bit harsh, with a sharp lingering sour coating the back of the throat. Has an oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Has a big rep, but I found this just really messy and quite hard to drink tbh. Sounds like quite a different beer to some of the earlier versions. More red wine than beer for mine.

375ml can from Monster and Beer, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a clear light straw colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light tropical citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate to light bitter and sweet, with a light, crisp, watery, malty, light citrus, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

375ml can from Monster and Beer, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured a hazy golden straw colour with a short-lived, fizzy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is grainy malt, a little cardboard yeast, light citrus. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, watery, light citrus, funky yeast, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with lively carbonation. Might be great for a BBQ, but not a beer to share with your beer geek friends. Very light and watery.

pitch black color. Thin off white head, licorice, molasses, dark chocolate, big oak and bourbon. Slightly salty and sweet. Pleasant. Alcohol well hidden. Palate isn’t as tight as I would want, but it’s ok

Stockade a Brewing Co. Old Money Stout BOURBON BA Imperial Stout 12.5% 2018 Very deep black with virtually no head and an aniseed/licorice with oaky bourbon vanilla notes aroma. Lovely soft mouthfeel with a medium to full body. The finish gave me maple, it’s a really nice brew. Very good example of a BBA Imperial Stout though it isn’t so complex. Really enjoyable though. Bottle via a trade.

Pours black with a small quickly fading head.Nose shows heavy roasted malt, liquorice, bourbon, a bit of vanilla oak notes, sultanas.Flavours include more bourbon and liquorice, caramel, sultanas and prunes, and intensely sweet molasses notes. A fair whack of booze shows through too. Very rich, decadent flavours, but overly sweet, almost port-esque.
