(Can) Pours black with thin medium brown head. Big complex aroma - burnt toast and maple syrup, with notes of coffee, pipe tobacco smoke. Full bodied, sticky with plenty of fine creamy carbonation. The taste is full on and not for the faint-hearted. It starts off sweet and maple syrupy. This is pretty intense and it’s hard to pinpoint other flavours - maybe raisins, coffee and vanilla. This sweet foretaste steadily transforms to an intense bitter finish and aftertaste. It’s a burnt sugar / toast bitterness with some coffee and wood notes. In the mid palate and the start of the finish there’s some port notes and the only hint of the 12% alcohol. Very interesting, but a bit intense for me.

330mL can, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is loaded with maple syrup upfront, followed by light vanilla, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is wonderfully rich, with lots of maple syrup without it being sweetened, medium roasted malt, and a touch of vanilla. Lots of maple syrup upfront, with a medium roasted palate. Excellent.

Tap at the Burger Joint New York, Singapore. Poured a clear dark brown colour with, a lasting frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate, light liquorice, vanilla. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet with a smooth, rich, oily, roasty, light red berry fruit, light boozy, oaky palate. The alcohol is surprisingly well hidden. Quite dangerous when all things are considered!

From a 330ml can on 15/6/2019. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a smallish head. Has a light fruity, berryish nose. In the mouth, it's quite sweet, with a distinct strawberry flavour as promised, balanced nicely by a gentle bitterness. The mouthfeel is slick and creamy with softish carbonation. It presents as quite a big beer, and is slightly warming, yet it's dangerously quaffable. Cohesive and beautifully balanced. Marvelous stuff.

(Bottle) Pours black with thin tan head. Nice aroma - bourbon, vanilla, with toffee and chocolate notes, maybe a hint of smokiness. Medium body with modest but bright carbonation. Taste is surprisingly fruity, with toffee, bourbon and vanilla notes. Unusual, and quite pleasant.

Bottle. Deep brown/black. It's maple up the wazoo. Very sweet, but somehow it works very very well.
