(Bottle) Opaque shiny black with the tiniest tan head. Pleasant complex aroma including raisins and hints of chocolate. Very full body, almost approaching syrupy, with soft creamy carbonation. The taste is full and rich and rather difficult to pin down. The start has a nice sweetness of the rich Christmas pudding variety (although without the spices) which steadily develops balancing tougher flavours including smokey burnt notes, alcohol bite and bitterness. The finish of sticky rich sweetness balanced with bitterness lasts a long time. Fantastic beer.

Aromas of raisin, roasted coffee and chocolate rise up from the dirty brown head atop this pitch black beer. The alcohol is prominent on both the nose and in the tasting, but in spite of that it’s very smooth. It has a lovely creamy palate and tastes a little like a Bailey’s. My only criticism is that it’s a little short.

Bottle from Mane Liquor, Perth. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Plenty of citrus fruit, with supporting biscuity malts and a decent, dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows herbal and spicy hops with a little mint too. Biscuity and bready malt underneath.Very clean flavours. Quite herbal and spicy again, with a bit of the bready malt too. Finishes with an assertive bitterness and a little booze. Could use more malt.

Pours pale amber with a small head.Nose shows spicy phenols, clean light malt and spicy, herbal hops. Tempting.Boozy hoppy flavours with big spicy Belgian notes and doughy yeast. A fair bit of herbal, spicy hops too. Nice!Carbonation could be a little higher.

I could smell this one from across the room as a cluster bomb of grapefruit, passion fruit, lemon, dirty socks and a little honey exploded in my nose. That combination didn’t prepare me for the full frontal assault of the hops in my mouth. The citrus was much more pronounced, although those dirty socks were still prominent and there were some pleasant sweet floral notes and nougat in the aftertaste. My only knock on this one is the palate, which is a touch thin.

Growler. Hazy golden amber with an inch of white head. Aroma of grapefruit, peach, grass, pine, passionfruit, mango. Plenty going on with this hop. Light bodied. A little caramel and lots of fruit -dankish tropical, sweet peaches, mellow almost sour citrus. Fairly bitter at the end, but the aromatics are the show. Disappeared fast.

hazy amber color. Heavy dose of caramel and candied apple. Full bodied. A touch sweet. Moderately aggressive bitter finish. Decent without be outstanding.

Pours straw with a quickly fading head.Nose shows doughy wheat, coriander, banana, spicy phenols and herbal hops. Enticing.Flavours don’t quite back it up. Doughy wheat, grainy malt, spicy Belgian notes and sharp herbal and spicy hops that seem out of place without supporting malt.Feels a bit highly carbonated.

this one has super model good looks, with its tanned complexion and auburn hair. The aroma has plenty of toffee malt, some grapefruit and a touch of floral aroma. The taste is very smooth, featuring toffee, orange and grapefruit in a combo that hides its alcohol with ease. A ripper.
